I did think the same when we resigned him and everyone was saying 'that's our first signing completed'. It would have been the same for Taylor if he had signed.

Do you reckon that Milne is counting him as both one who has left and one who has been signed?

Stuart Watson certainly is in the article i cropped above. I'd expect Spence will be on more money now than he was in what was effectively an extended trial last season. I'm sure there is not much in it vs wage bill last year, but it shows how much we are having to spend on fewer players and we're still not anywhere near competitive with the Top 10.

About time we started spending more then rather than just plodding along boring everyone to death.

Agreed. Likely to be similar wages as last season. Huws is a good permanent addition, and prob on more wages than last season.

We're probably spending £8m more than our income on wages alone. And it's not enough. Keep the wallet open Marcus or 15th is your new home

Well it's 12 as they count Huws and Spence. Plus less than that again as it counts Emmanuel and Moore going on loan [Post edited 24 Jul 2017 20:32]

Agree, but the accounts will show if he's lying. Anyway, we'll forget it all when we are promoted with Neymar leading the line

Spense is a great new signing. If he had a contract extension he would just be an existing player of the squad...but he was out of contract, available to others but we got him, get in.

Spence signed a deal until the end of the season. Huws was a loan and under contract to another club. Not the same thing.

Presume on this logic, that Chambers is also classed as a new signing? Runs for cover ....

Even after 14 players have left, our wage bill is apparently higher on 22:05 - Jul 24 with 6624 views | Mark | It doesn't seem right to me, as surely the likes of Berra, Taylor, Douglas, Coke, Lawrence, Pitman, Best and Samuel were on decent money. Milne said our wages were "upper quartile" (top six) of the Championship a few months ago, then turns out we pay among the lowest wages in the league. It feels like me as though they try to convince us Evans is investing loads, but in reality our rivals are nearly all spending much more. It doesn't help that much of our money goes on older players and loans, not just recently but over recent years, so we rarely have players we can sell to increase our income.

Berra, Lawrence and Pitman were, but then Huws became the highest player thus far under MM and Celina is probably equivalent to Lawrence give or take. The others were paid in Farley's rusks and cherryade comparatively. Also not helpful from the local press again making our 14 have left, when people are having a pissing contest over whether or not two of them count as new signings etc.
