Beautiful piece on BBC sport 05:19 - Jul 11 with 2654 viewsacj

Perfectly captures the gut wrenching anxiety of being a football fan and is so well written, definitely worth a few minutes of your time to have a read.

Yep, that's written by someone who has suffered watching football. It's also why the Sweden match felt so odd. It was far easier than I'm used to my football teams making that sort of win.

I appreciated the comment about finding life easier 1-0 down, rather than 1-0 up.

It was only when Alli scored the second against Sweden that I stopped needing the toilet.

Lovely descriptions of the players too.

I can't believe they only mentioned Orient & Millwall for Kane. I was led to believe it was his 3 appearances for them up the road that made him the player he is today....

This bit is so true:

"...you lie to yourself. We're just going to enjoy the occasion. It's only sport. I didn't expect us to win anyway."

I noticed this "...a superstar captain who learned on loan at Orient and Millwall" and particularly grateful that the author didn't include you know who!

Oh good, it's not just me then - I usually feel that way when we're playing Naarwich!
