It is crazy the media perception about us and how we as a fanbase 'hounded' MM out. Any balanced view would suggest that the time had come for both parties and that our fans were not all baying for his blood. We're one of the tamest, down-to-earth bunch of footy fans in the country. To suggest we all threw our toys out the pram expecting automatic promotion or something is just indicative of how little supposed experts know about our club. |  |

But the fact that the time had come to separate was only because a smallish minority took it upon themselves to give it large to Mick at every opportunity. He grew tired of it and allowed himself to be baited. Most of us could see that he was doing a decent job with scant resources, even if we didn’t like his style of play.
So in a real sense he was hounded out - but by a small minority that made it impossible for him to stay. |  |
