Bristol City is massive... colossal.... the good news is they are on a.. 17:20 - Nov 26 with 5582 viewsunstableblue

.... 4 game losing streak.

It HAS to click whilst we still have some bounce from Lambert appointment and change in practices.

We are so hampered by our lack of fire power... but perhaps Jackson and the youngster can find form. Full backs and the right balance in midfield also a concern.

Poll: How many points will Town get from 5 (Wat, Boro, Hull, Cov, Hudd)?

Yeah. Probably for them.

For any team on a bad run, Ipswich are the team you want to play to get a win!

With our last two managers, I would say we'd get a draw at best, but with PL I'm feeling confident we can get the 3 points, just need a bit of luck - Webster OG in the 93rd minute would be nice!

I wish that losing 4 on the trot meant something, Whilst we must not be pessimistic unless we have totally changed under PL then we all know what Town are like. Games they should win they either draw or lose, games they should lose they sometimes come out of with a point or three. It's all down to concentration, cutting out silly mistakes and when chances come not fluffing them. But despite PL being very positive are we good enough ? Also I doubt the atmosphere will be on a par with the WBA game. Bristol will only bring a hundred or two. I reckon if the gate is 16,000 that's decent, any more I'd be surprised, any less then I wouldn't.

Face facts we still haven't won under PL our players might well be trying but if they are not up to the standard as they aren't we are never going to win enough games.

If we don't win this Lambert is danger of entering Hurst territory talking a great game but not winning. I would rather we played badly and won than another draw and "we will be fine if we keep playing like that"

This season feels like 85-86, lots of promising performances but ultimately a lack of goals sunk us in the end along with the gradual break of of Robsons squad from 3 years earlier.

It's must win, or we go into 2 tough away games desperate.

Anything but a win is a disaster, and that win can give us a real boost - but we need to win most of our home games coming up

Every chance we do win, but then have 2 defeats from those 2 away games. Literally 1 step forward, 2 back

Nah. We've got another chance at a win against Wigan a couple of weeks later. No need to stress, as long as we avoid actually losing.

Don't get me wrong, three points would be very nice and we do have to get at least one victory between now and the end of the year. Moreover we have a decent chance of doing that on Wednesday. But it still isn't the end of the world if it fails to happen.

The most important thing is not plunging ourselves - or the team - into the depths of despair if things don't immediately start to go right. Nor is it healthy to pile vast pressure onto the players when they'd be better expending their mental energy on the game.

Or that we'll draw them and stay in touch. We are draw specialists. Only four teams in the division have drawn the same (8) or more (9) games - including among that number both Forest and Stoke.

Looking at the fixtures to the January window Joe and I would agree its a must win on weds. We just need to keep in touching distance and off the bottom, and then hopefully new signing will give us that much needed lift.

And we'll need a couple of wins and a couple of draws to do that... and Bristol seem the easiest game of the lot.

Can see this being the continued story for the rest of the season, the next game is the most important. If we fail to get 3 points on Wednesday night against Bristol City, Forest on Saturday now becomes a 'HUGE' game.......so on and so on!!! They'll all be colossal games from now until the end of the season. Are we good enough to survive? That's the real issue for me.

My predictions Unstableblue from the forthcoming fixtures you've listed:

Bristol City (H) - W
Forest (A) - L
Stoke City (A) - L
Wigan (H) - W
Sheffield United (H) - D
QPR (A) - D
Boro' (A) - L

I was thinking it was similar to 2001/2 when we last left the Premier

First half of the season we gave up so many winnable points and ultimately left ourselves too much to do in the second half. We rallied and hit lower midtable around March (I think) but then our last games were all tough and we had a dreadful run at the end of the season.

If we go on a little run and pick up 2-3 wins over a period of 5-6 games, I'll re-evaluate. But until that point I can't see us moving off the bottom of the table.

That's the problem, we can't get wins and the trouble with Bristol is that they will be coming to shore up and maybe play for a draw. Must therefore start like we did at Reading and get ahead. Attack attack attack and no surrender at the back as mistakes have cost us dearly.

Will they really be happy with a draw against the team stranded at the bottom?

A new manager bounce is obviously often very true. But Town this year are very different, the quality of our team is so distant from other teams that we have to implement a more tactical approach, I actually think we will get better when the players start to understand the tactics more, not have the new manager bounce and then decline from there.
