H's spent over and above the sales.

There's also a very good chance that the wage bill certainly up to January was smaller.

I can’t believe people want Evans out. Whoever does needs to watch the Sunderland documentary and see how bad it can get.

The "Evans out" campaigners remind me of Brexiteers - they want out, without knowing what it would achieve or how it would be executed?

Very good interview.

I doubt it was actually an interview. It's a press release drafted in the style of an interview.

My eyebrow was raised by the question that started 'You are clearly backing Paul'.

It's not that clear, is it? We've got a few loans and short term deals in for players largely in the wilderness. I appreciate we are very much beggars but I didn't seem like a clear backing.

I can't see how anyone (not aimed just at your post) can say that he has not backed PL (or PH before that). He has admitted that the strategy of pre season failed as we all know and he is now working with PL to try and rectify/stabilise us.

In the position we are in we are very unlikely to sign any 'top' players with the correct attitude and drive to get us out of this situation unless we are looking at players from lower leagues to step up but then we are back to square one and reliving the same risks.

Loanees and Short Terms deals all have something to prove to either their parent club, ITFC (for a longer contract) and/or to themselves. We all know the hardship we are facing and the possibility of relegation and, although on the face of it these are short term signings, this IMHO is the most balanced way for ITFC to operate for the rest of this season when the future of our Championship status is in the balance.

At the end of the season, whether we survive or not, we will be in a position to return the players to their parent clubs, release short term players, retain short term players and allow PL to target his own players based on the budgets and division we are in. Again, IMHO, this is the most stable and strategic way forward whilst minimising risk and I would imagine there are currently two distinct plans and transfer targets being created that can be put into operation once our final fate is decided.

One of the last few sentences sums-up why I think he is great for us.....Talking about the 'Money Club'.

If having a sustainable club means we are glued in the Champ with an outside chance of promotion, I'll take that.

It only takes one new manager or a couple of inspired signings (Waghorn etc) and we can go up.

ME talks a lot of sense.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

Really?

we sold established champ players and got league 1/2 players, no way are they going to be on 10k plus as Mcg would have been, Waggers would of been on decent money long the loan players.

After the lesson yesterday I thought I'd follow up. Marcus Evans is English, despite having a Welsh surname. Just in case there was any confusion.

Just because the club makes a surplus on sales in the course of one summer, it does not mean you have to put all that back in on player purchases. Howr about being prudent and using it to reduce the amount that you need to find to keep the lights on?
