Rose is very consistent and 14-1 isn't bad , although the British players are always poor value with British bookies.
I can see Casey being placed, but he doesn't win very often.
First timers rarely do well at Augusta so I Won't have Peperell.
Couples has an amazing Masters record, but he's 59. I bet he will be on the leaderboard at some stage, but probably not on Sunday. | |

I had a good national so am well involved in the masters as always. Reed winning last year after me backing him and Kuchar in every major for four years was just brilliant. 45/1 I believe he was.
As to this year, I’m on a fair few with the 10 places offer. Got a few cover bets in on the exchange too and think I’m in a very good position.
Firstly, with Reed winning, I’m left with just Kuchar to back every time.
Then I’ve got small bets each way on Thomas, Rory, Rahm and Snedekar. Exchange cover bets on Schwartzel (430.0), Dechambeau (48.0) and Matsuyama (36.0).
Now the ones I actually fancy to win and are my best bets for this year:
- Dustin Johnson - 10/1 with 10 places on offer with Betfair is a big price. He’s playing well as usual and even though Rory is firing again, I’d have DJ as the favourite here. 10/1 is huge. A profit (albeit small) if he gets a top 10 finish and I expect him to do so.
- Justin Rose - 16/1 for Mr Consistency. Think that’s more than fair. An each way betnon consistent players in the majors is a good strategy. He’s placed for me a few times in the last couple of years.
- Rickie Fowler - 16/1. Really fancy a big year for Fowler starting with this competition.
- Tommy Fleetwood - 22/1 is value for one of the most improving golfers on the planet.
Best winners are Fowler, Schwartzel (because he’s 430.0 to win) Fleetwood and DJ. Think Fowler and DJ will be the top 2.

I stand corrected but even with around eighty good players and ten places being paid each way IMO unless you are getting 20/1 or more I would rather have the chance to win more than getting a small amount back for a place. | | | |
