Bands considered good/great that you never really got into on 17:46 - Jun 6 by Mullet
The Beatles.
A back catalogue pitted with a few diamonds amongst whole heaps of dogsh1t. From the twee manufactured boy band era of 64 right through to the pretentious post hippy art students who never grew up nonsense.
Harrison was the one who deserves the plaudits far more in my opinion.
Had they not had such cultural success and been a goldmine for the first wave of teen culture to really get established, they'd be a footnote in musical history with many of their peers. But the combination of music, film and endorsements really set the mould for so many of today's throwaway pop monoliths like Take That et al.

You floppy armed fig, get off this thread
One of my favourite bands of all time. ***king love J Spaceman. His songs and lyrics hit a very large spot when I was doing a lot of drugs and now the same about getting off those things that make you feel this way all the time.

Are the Clash considered great? Dunno mane. Early U2 is the tits but everything they have done since the 90s is pretty bad. you know who I can't stand but loads of people love? The Pixies.
Chico, you are one of my favourite things about this site, but for crying out loud.
PIxies are the best band of all time.

Given my music taste is almost exclusively guitar based stuff from 80s/90s/00s (Cure, Smiths, Pixies, early Radiohead, REM, Chameleons, Stone Roses, Interpol, Killers, Idlewild) then I'm not going to rattle of all of the pop music I can't stand mentioned here (e.g. Wham, Simply Red), so will focus on the bands that on face value I should like, but just never got into:

I was wondering how long it would be before someone got the right answer. Glad it was on the first page.
The Sex Pistols Coldplay - poor man's Radiohead U2 Kings of Leon - one of my mates and his wife rave about them. Just don't like their music. Kasabian The Fall - every music journo I've ever read creams themselves about the late Mark E Smith. Why? Sounds like a pissed-up pub band. The Mission - bloody Goth rubbish Kraftwerk

The Fall?! And Kraftwerk?!
I feel violated, absolutely violated. Fck outta here...
footers KC - Prosecution Barrister - Friend to all
Oasis - Bloated, pretentious. I admit some of their songs would be good, if they had lasted three minutes or less. Genesis - I like bands like Jethro Tull, King Crimson and even Peter Gabriel solo. Now and again I try to listen to their classic albums "Selling England..." and "Lamb Lies...", but it's not for me.
Not liking The Clash and Pixies???
