What's the most tory thing you've done of late? 09:16 - Oct 30 with 15490 views | artsbossbeard | I've agreed to go to a town centre bar early this Saturday AM to watch the rugger. I don't think blazers and collars up on polo shirts is mandatory dress code but I'm guessing there'll be a whiff of "Boris Speak" in the air. Beat that.

But that really is rugby in the South East - seems very much more middle/upper middle class there than anywhere else I’ve been around England and indeed the UK. With “Twickers” in possibly the worst area to double down on that.

A few years back, I went on a rugby tour with a club from Basingstoke (long story). It was the most middle class thing I've ever done in my life. Chock full of blokes who go out once a year and go absolutely mental for 48hrs.

Sorry? What is it about rugby supporters that they feel the need to reference football at every opportunity? Some sort of inferiority complex maybe? Yeah, you wouldn't see a footballer stick a blood capsule in their mouth and pretend to have been punched either you melt.

100% this! Yeah they may respect the ref (I heard you the last 100 times you bell) but let's ignore the occasional off the ball assault on an opponent.

My father in law is from Welsh stock and played rugger to a reasonable standard. He refers to football as "soccer" and should he come round when the rugger's on, we'll have to have it on and then listen to him sprout his words of wisdom on what they should've done and why someone is useless. I'll deliberately just watch the "soccer" if he's around without comment. After 23yrs, he still hasn't took the hint.

you're confusing tory with middle class. 90% of the islington labour party spend every weekend sourcing their parmigiano.

You're right and I even come from a middle class Islington Labour voting family - all boxes ticked. Apart from my own as I seem to be climbing down the class ladder than up, but that's a detail.

Regarding the blood capsule... You definitely see footballers feigning injury. I suspect there are plenty of players who'd've used the blood capsule but the rugby players thought of it first.
