Boris might bottle Neil interview on 15:52 - Nov 27 with 2402 views | legally_blue | Given the performance of Sturgeon and Corbyn, probably a wise political move by Boris (he won't lose much by not doing it; lots of potential for him to mess up if he does), but obviously not a great day for openness and transparency if he does pull out...

Politically, its shows him to be a snivelling coward. Granted, I'm not his audience.

Yes, really poor from the BBC if they don't now interview Johnson and it'll do nothing for the accusations that they aren't impartial in this election campaign.

The Greensdo have a party leader though, in fact two of them. They could interview one of them.

They do like to give Farage as much airtime as they can. Shows up the whole 'left wing bias' thing for the bollox it is.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten she'd stood down. They could invite one of the Green Party leaders though, more deserving than Farage given they have an MP and an actual manifesto.

Why are they still negotiating with him when they are already two interviews in? Should they not have ensured the PM was signed up at the outset?

I don't think that the problem with the beeb is 'bias' as more false equivalence. Hence why stories about climate change, vaccinations, etc, etc frequently feature climate change deniers, anti-vaxxers as well as actual people who know what they're talking about as if there's equal weight to both arguments when there isn't. We don’t know that they have not done so. If Johnson is refusing now ,it would seem that was always his intention. As someone else posted he has nothing to gain from it. I doubt whether his refusal will cost him many votes.

Not tying down the PM when they are supposed to be balanced and fair and then running ahead with the others....not exactly well thought out, managed and executed.

Well they haven't done so, because he hasn't signed up. It's really poor.

Ergo the Beeb shouldn't have run any of them.

Boris might bottle Neil interview on 16:22 - Nov 27 with 2225 views | BigManBlue | They ought to empty chair him in that case, and to fill the time have Neil go through all the lies he's made so far in the campaign and explain exactly what is untrue about them.

Yes, all that is true. Yet people still whine on about BBC lefty bias even though it is palpably untrue and their pandering to Farage is perfect evidence of this.

We do know that they've not done so as they've said they've not tied him down to a date. The fact they ran the other interviews without having Johnson signed up is irresponsible on their part. If they are going to have Neil scrutinise the leaders then the current PM should be part of that or it shouldn't go ahead. [Post edited 27 Nov 2019 16:33]
