What happens if we lose next Saturday then? (n/t) on 21:09 - Jan 4 by itfcjoe | Yep, that’s what really sets the alarm bells ringing - go into that off the back of another poor result and it’s going to be getting serious |
Wouldn't surprise me if Evans only does something when we're about 12th with 3 to play. It's genuinely a disgrace this run of form, and the most frustrating thing is it all feels so self inflicted. Pissing around with the team selection / formations etc. The time for tinkering and excuses is over. No cup distractions and a largely fully fit squad now, genuinely there are can be excuses. 21 games left, lets go and win 15 of them starting against Accrington.

What happens if we lose next Saturday then? (n/t) on 20:58 - Jan 4 by PJH | We are now away to Oxford after the Accrington game so there are 4 games before we go to Rotherham. |
Would expect us to be home to Fleetwood 21/1/20,

What happens if we lose next Saturday then? (n/t) on 21:19 - Jan 4 by SomethingBlue | Good question but I do think as a fanbase we need to be a little careful at the moment. This run needs to end pretty much immediately but PL is clearly going nowhere this season and I agreed with what another poster (forget who, sorry) said earlier about the risk of repeating a McCarthy-type endgame at this point. It's so important we get out of L1 this season and I think all we can do is, as supporters, create the best possible environment in which that might happen. I agree that Evans pretty much has us over a barrel for the next few months and it is far from ideal but would urge people to park any real dissent til the end of the season. It would not take much at all for us to improve in a way that gets out of this league, even now. |
I agree SB. Now I don't believe Lambert is the man to take us forward for a whole host of reasons, but we are where we are right now. We've got 21 matches in the next 4 months, no cup distractions, none of the EFL Trophy BS, just 63 points to play for and as supporters we need to just get behind the side and hope something can click.

What happens if we lose next Saturday then? (n/t) on 20:36 - Jan 4 by Bluefish | More excuses are made by the numbskull element and they attack people that question our 34th line up of the season |
Critiquing people for ‘attacking’ whilst seemingly ‘attacking’ them at the same time. I like it, I like it a lot. Very Bluefish.

What happens if we lose next Saturday then? (n/t) on 20:53 - Jan 4 by AlanG296 | Lambert's career has been on a downward spiral since he left that lot up the road. Been living off what he did there ever since. Only gets jobs now with teams heading for relegation. This five year contract now is hid final big payday. He can retire to Germany when he's gone. |
It is since he lost Culverhouse in a fallout at Villa ... he is nothing without him !

Scarily, I'm not convinced it's just the fans who need to hope that something can click. The way the management/coaching team are throwing random teams & formations out, they're in the same boat.

It certainly seems that way-they seem to be hoping that the right eleven names get pulled out of the hat on the day of a game.

What happens if we lose next Saturday then? (n/t) on 20:43 - Jan 4 by clive_baker | There's no way he'll be dismissed Saturday. It wouldn't surprise me greatly if he walked, if this run continues. Yes he would be walking away from a presumably lucrative salary but I really don't think he would want to be here if it got too toxic, and I could definitely see him sacking it off. I'm sure he's got a bob or 2 in the bank and could easily get a gig somewhere or do media work. Looking at our fixtures we really do need a decent points haul from the next 3, as the 3 that follow that (Rotherham A, Peterborough H, Sunderland A) could be very unkind to us. I'm looking at these next 6 and really do fear that come 5pm on 8th Feb we could well be out of the playoff places, at which point Evans would really have to do something. |
Media work? He'd need a translator.

What happens if we lose next Saturday then? (n/t) on 23:32 - Jan 4 with 1243 views | unstableblue | Football is fine margins Joe. Lose and any positives from Wycombe (and even at Exeter with Bishop and the Keane goal) evaporate and it feels like a death spiral. The voices against Lambert will gain real scale. Win and it’s a very different picture going into Oxford away. We’ll have some momentum and confidence for that difficult tie. In our last three games we’ve had 57% possession and 15 shots, 61% and 10, 60% and 7. The challenge for Lambert is whether to stick with the Wycombe team Or flex yet again? You feel Norris, Edwards did not do enough to keep a place. Does he switch to 4-4-2? Does he bring Bishops attacking difference in from the start. Lose and we’re in real trouble.

I wouldn’t call a single win “momentum”

Agree. The only option is PL miraculously turning it around. Evans won't do anything this season, no matter how bad it gets.
