The Man Utd Woodward protest 12:51 - Jan 29 with 1895 views | Illinoisblue | While in no way condoning reckless and not to mention criminal acts aimed at a man’s house and family, it is reassuring that in today’s sanitized corporate-led football climate, fans still care enough to make a stand, however misguided that stand might be.

Agreed. Even if Utd were 20th, their actions wouldnt be acceptable.

And how much some allow the game to totally dominate and almost determine their lives.

It’s a fair point. And if any football fan was offered a trophy-laden two decades of dominance but with the caveat of “you’ll then have to suffer for a few years” we’d all take it. In summing up, I am delighted with United’s demise but also happy they have enough real fans left to take a stand.

"real fans", really? They are not real fans. Real fans wouldn't try and terrorise a man at his family home. Real fans have options of boycotting, or even protests at a game, without resorting to tw@tish criminal behaviour. I really cannot see how anyone would view this in a positive way. What sort of outcome did they expect this to have that will help the club?

A lot of that is down to the media I think. Sky Sports, 606, YouTube fan channels, every outlet wants to let everyone know it's 'their club' and they have a right to speak up about it.

Ignorant cowardly thugs aren't they. Same mindset of those who thought that attacking JRM's home was acceptable. I hate the **** but that doesn't make it ok.

Well, when Spurs fans painted rude slogans on Alan Sugar's house after he dismissed Terry Venables, I'm sure it made him think twice about being the club's majority owner, although he did stay for another 8 years.

It's football. A game. Makes you think those involved have very little going on in their lives or between their ears.

I don't have the most of those myself but I can find better things to do than to go about vandalising people's homes. Can these people not learn to cook? Have they not discovered wine?

They are also complaining about a lack of investment, having spent £70m on a centre back.

The Man Utd Woodward protest on 19:52 - Jan 29 with 1345 views | TheBoyBlue | It's actually a highly depressing snapshot of modern football fandom. They're fifth in the Premier League (with two of the teams above them two of the best teams this country has ever seen), in the last 16 of the Europa League, 5th round of the FA Cup and the semi-finals (albeit just) of the League Cup and all under the guidance of young manager in only his second season there. Yet they're so angry they've taken to attacking the home of a man with two young children. There's nothing reassuring about that.

They also didn't seem to understand the irony of chanting about their grievances whilst 6-0 up at Tranmere.
