I’m not defending her words. The idea someone cannot be bullied for any reason is pretty sh1tty, particularly on a personal level for me. As stated in my first reply once I found the news story.
But she stated it’s because he was in the army. You’ve jumped the gun on this and assumed it’s because he’s male. That’s my point. In a roundabout way you’ve made a bit of a sexist point in trying to make it about sexism. Women can join the army too.

She's not suggesting that because he's a man he can't have be bullied, she's suggesting that because he was a lieutenant he can't have been bullied. You've even supported this in the penultimate paragraph of your own comment.
