Apparently you can't be the victim of bullying 12:58 - Feb 5 with 8343 viewsGlasgowBlue

If you are a male who has served in HM forces.

Isn't that gender stereotyping? And if people hold such regressive attitudes it can only stop men from speaking out for fear of being labelled weak?

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Strange how he refused to wear the Speaker's original attire then.

Didn't know that. Point remains that he is very into the whole UK parliamentary democracy thing.

Which I think you'd need to be to get engaged in the HoL, which seems largely pointless to me.

Would you care to answer the question?

Would you care to address my points re: context first?

I know you prefer just moving on when you get challenged but it's a pretty nasty habit on a forum that's meant to be based on discussion and not politicking.

You didn't make any points. I asked you a question and you replied with "Kawczynski, the Tory support for Orban, Brexit and your entire political past getting to you? Keep playing the antisocial justice warrior and people *might* look the other way".

I'll leave you to bark at the moon. I have better things to do with my time even you you don't.

You're trying too hard.

You know I didn't make my points there ... go back, have a read and have a think.

As callis points out, you've royally screwed up by bringing your own assumptions about gender stereotyping into this. So I think you should start to question a little more often whether your context and meaning is the right one. Or just the context and meaning you want it to be.

Communication is fascinating stuff, isn't it?

Neither of them. Just seems laughable for the Tories to try and claim the moral high ground at this point when we all know there would never have been any formal complaints if Bercow didn't look like getting in the HoL.

It's NOT the Tories claiming the high ground, it is a distinguished former Army General calling out Bercow as a bully.

If you think Gen Leakey is anything other than of the highest moral standard then I fear for you.

I'd take his word all day long, especially as it's Dumbo who's challenged him.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

you get worse by the hour

one is making claims of bullying

the other is saying that those claims are unlikely if they were directed at someone who was once a General

those two positions are not one of either or

Dumbella, according to you, says that because David Leakey was a distinguished Lt Gen he cannot be bullied?

Are you agreeing with it? If so then you may need a strong brew.

Being a high ranking soldier does not preclude you from being bullied.

It’s blatantly a ruse to prevent him entering the HoL by the still salty ERG and pals, who didn’t like him playing fair and applying the rules to them.

Your first sentence states that I am saying that the chap cannot be bullied

Yet in the next sentence you question whether I am pursuing that line of thought.

A bit contradictory that some might think.

Perhaps you would be better following GB's line and have a scrabble around the internet for something new to get outraged about.

And as I note a black female Labour MP was speaking in Parliament today, there must be plenty of scope there for you or GB to rage about.

She is something else.

Just look at what you could have won!!! Your next Home Secretary......

To answer the OP, or actually Dumb Abbott's stupid tweet........Lt Gen Leakey is correct and his integrity cannot be questioned.
He would not lie.

Bercow is a disgrace. Gross Misconduct should also mean loss of pension......

Who do you believe? Dumb Abbott or Lt Gen Leakey?

Based on your posting history I don't think we can remotely trust the word of ex-military types.

Still very stupid from Abbott.

Fair points, what I'm driving at is if this alleged bullying is so reprehensible, the complaints from Lisvane and Leakey should have been made at the time regardless. Not just because he's now potentially in line for a peerage. It just makes it look like a purely political move.

Actually- forget it.

No one said the opposite. What I said was that and then that you’d taken liberties equating it to sexism.

That tweet is some of the most accidental male privilege I’ve ever seen, and from a transphobic no less. I think that says more about her world view than anything based in reality. I’m sure many sexual assault survivors would find the idea of comparing bullying in parliament with, you know, the utterly traumatising act of sexual assault.

This thread’s been a bit weird. I’m out.
