Must be painful still being bitter after that.

Can't change your colours now.

Probably looking at the table and thinking, “Phew, good thing we won today to stay 7th, otherwise we might have dropped to 9th. Blimey, I wish I could turn the clock back to January 25 when we were 1st. But then again, it’s all our fault that that we blew it so badly over the last couple of matches. Getting our hopes up and wishing for us to come through some tricky subsequent games with a better return than three straight defeats and no goals from open play. Too fixated on the short-term, you see. When you’re top of the table, you have to look long-term and that always has to start with a run of defeats that takes you off the top and out the top 6. It’s character building, isn’t it? MaySixth said so somewhere.”

One win does not make for a competent manager. See also: Paul Hurst.

I realise you’re on a wind up but:

If you wanted Jewell out, how did you feel after the Barnsley game?

If you wanted Keane out, how did you feel after the West Brom game?

If you wanted Hurst out, how did you feel after the Swansea game?

If you wanted MM out, how did you feel after the Barnsley game?

If you wanted Jim out, how did you feel after the Norwich game?

I’m sure you were unhappy with at least one of those MAN-A-GERS, but were happy that the TEAM you support had won?

Dad?

Spot on. My obsession is Ipswich Town Football Club. Not whoever the bloke is to manage us at the time.

I actually don't think he's on a wind up. He's either drunk or unbelievably dim.

He does it all the time.

TWTD CP. Evans Out.

Just like one loss doesn’t change much, one win doesn’t either. Win 4 or 5 on the bounce and come back with this post.

Bit counterproductive that, in more ways than one.

You're the only one looking a bit melty & bitter.

Why can't you just enjoy the win & the goalfest?

All today has done, nice as it is to actually win under 'I've won fewer than 30% of my games in charge' Paul Lambert, is reinforce the notion that under PRP, we are competent flat-track bullies.

Hard to argue with his competence today though as has been the case in most games since Jan with the odd exception. Setup the right side with more balance today although I’d like to have seen Norwood start and after deep discussion with Taylor, changed it when he needed to with good effect. We limited Burton to nothing of real note after their goal and could have / should have scored eight or more.

The best thing about the performance is that we looked to move the ball forward a lot quicker today when he needed too. Their looked to be a strong togetherness from the players too. Looks like, now we’re getting into the business end of the season, they’ve decided to roll their sleeves up.

About the worst thing you can do, if you have the welfare of the club and team at heart, is stir and create division when things have gone well.

If your intent is to get the people with clearly valid criticisms of Lambert to double down and dig their heels in, and to start protesting, booing and generally creating unrest, then I despair.

Good comment.

The test is whether these supporters are happier when the team loses. I suspect some on here would rather the team loses and doesn’t get promoted, so that they can be proved right about Lambert and Evans, and because they get a sense of power by attacking and criticising.

It’s obviously fine to criticise if it’s fair and based on evidence, although even then I’m not sure it’s a good thing to do this in the middle of a match as this is more likely to damage the the players, and create more of the very thing that these supporters say they don’t want.

Melt? What stupid terminology that word is used for nowadays. Especially on this site. If it helps you to understand though, yes, great win, but l still want that melt Lambert out.
