Is "following the science" 06:39 - Apr 18 with 7714 views | bluelagos | an adequate defence to the charges / lost lives that will have occured due to our government's dithering? We even had football authorities taking the tough decisions before our own politicians. Or is it really acceptable that they wasted precious time when all around them the evidence was there for a need to act to reduce social contacts? https://www.newstatesman.com/2020/04/eleven-days-may-have-tragically-cost-uk-fig [Post edited 18 Apr 2020 6:51]

If that were the case we wouldn’t have 15k deaths right now. Or a severe lack of testing. Or NHS staff threatening strike over PPE gear.

Or the part when I obviously was away from the internet for hours when 4 posters at least went onto the subject of ventilators and you claimed I’d magically changed the subject? Don’t pat yourself on the back too hard because you were able to rally a pile on with your usual suspects. I just think you need to take a self-awareness course. Because you seem to have no issue taking multiple unprovoked personal issues with my opinion yet get upset when the favour is returned. Or perhaps, we can wait 3 years for you to start posting the same stuff as I am now with your classic “I am smart and impartial and write in long paragraphs” spin and everyone makes out you’re some kind of fountain of forththinking wisdom despite calling me every name under the sun and objecting massively when I said it before. Sort of like veganism and the environment. As I said, I’m probably best ignored now I’ve sussed you out. |
I can't be bothered to defend myself once again against you but I do take issue with this: "despite calling me every name under the sun" Link to the posts please, there must be loads of them since I've called you so many things. I believe it to be a lie but I am pretty sure you'd call it something else, a term you're very fond of. SB [Post edited 18 Apr 2020 18:31]

Is on 17:28 - Apr 18 by monytowbray | If you believe these scientists have been driven by either/or... - freedom to conclude. - having their actual recommendations implemented without any interference. ...then maybe you are a bit naive. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing people you can trust the Tories on anything. They can’t even be straight on Brexit promises, poverty levels, election interference or a tower block setting fire and killing a few dozen people whilst survivors still await rehoming because they covered the building in flammable padding, allowed big business to rig the safety laws and then blamed THE FIREFIGHTERS. As I said before, a large chunk of the nation are stuck in an abusive relationship with the Conservatives and have been gaslighted beyond all believe. I hope we can wake up from this nightmare soon. You’ve got two upvotes from our resident “I don’t vote Tory honestly but who I vote for is none of your business” posters on here anyway so well done. [Post edited 18 Apr 2020 17:34]

The government did not fit the cladding. When has the government "blamed" the fire service?

You can’t be bothered because you can’t. You go quiet when your narrative falls apart. I’m sure Phil can tell you how many deletions and edits he had to do in recent weeks aimed at me. Your feelings on me are so deep rooted you manage to gloss over a lot. It’s impressive as all it does is add further evidence to the fact I’ve got you sussed. [Post edited 18 Apr 2020 18:32]

You take things far too personally and are seeing things that simply aren't there. Sorry, but Stokie is one of the most fair-minded sorts on here and you're coming across as a bit of a bell. Even for someone who has more or less the same political views as you, you don't half make it unattractive.

If standing by my convictions makes me a dickwad I can live with that. I’m yet to see much to convince me I’m off the mark and I can I did what was needed to raise awareness of the sh1tshow we see before us.

There are obviously issues that need dealing with. - PPE - Ventilators - Distribution of the above going to Nightingale hospital in London instead of where it is needed most. - Expectations of NHS staff to use PPE sparingly. MrsN has had an email about updated PPE requirements. It’s not updated in a good way. When they say Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives. I can’t help but think they don’t mean protect the NHS staff. I’ve stopped watching the daily briefings. They don’t say much. I also don’t really expect the above to be dealt with satisfactorily at all. Therefore it is my hope that a proper inquest will deal with all the failings. It should also deal with all the positives. It’s clear that we aren’t prepared for anything such as this. South Korea, China, et al are better prepared due to SARS. We need to learn lessons.

Ahh, you thought I meant you? Nah, I was speaking in general about the pile ins you love to fuel. You’re more tactical in your insults and go for 3 paragraph personal assassination posts instead. Like pretending I changed the subject, getting called out, ignoring it and then going in deep when it’s pointed out with a million reasons I’m an awfully flawed person. Which is why your posts here amuse me so much.

The daily briefings are just soundbites now. The questions are getting better but would have been more use asking them 4 weeks ago.

Callis, I know Stokie and he's a decent bloke, he's really not like that. I can promise you whatever's in my pockets that that's the case. You can take my word for it or not, but I genuinely believe he isn't playing some subversive mindgame with you.

Fair enough but makes no difference to me as that’s your social life and you are free to do with it as you please. I’m just calling it as I can see it from years of engaging with him on the internet. The continued swerving on the ventilator point is just a nail in the coffin for my opinion on him, and I’ve tried my best to see it otherwise.

That’s not a strike though. It was suggested that they wouldn’t treat Covid patients without adequate PPE. I’m not sure where all this will end up to be honest because I can only see the PPE supplies getting worse. Doesn’t reusable PPE exist? Obviously not I would think although I have no idea why not.

Hang on: "everyone makes out you’re some kind of fountain of forththinking wisdom despite calling me every name under the sun" If the roles were reversed and I just posted what you posted I think we both know exactly how you'd react. You've still not said why you called me out in this thread. I was minding my own business, not replying to you and you took it upon yourself to attack me for no reason. I'd like to know why. Refusing to do elements of a job to gain worker rights via union action would sound like a strike to me. Not a full scale one, but it’s certainly a protest at the very least.

I know exactly how I’d react as this is the kind of drivel you post my way all the time and have done for years. Why did I call you out in this thread? Probably because I’m bored of you and dislike you to be brutally honest. For the above reason mostly. Do you a deal, if you can at least address my ventilator point you can ask me all the swerve-based questions you like. Until then, my advice is ignore me because it’s dull watching your switcheroo act when I can see through it.

Is "following the science" on 08:20 - Apr 18 by BloomBlue | I disagree that's theory not fact. We'll have to disagree, as I said if you dont like the way it's been handled at the next GE you can vote for another party. Same as me when Blair did what he did at the next GE I didnt vote for Labour. |
I can vote for any non-Tory party I like at the next General Election, it won't make any difference as I live in one of the most safe Tory seats in the country.
