There was no handbook on dealing with Covid 19, mistakes were always going to be made. The government however acted with no common sense. For me the tipping point of their early response was when they allowed the last day of The Cheltenham Festival to go ahead on 13 March after all other major sports had or were in the process of self postponement. I believe non League matches and smaller events still took place that weekend, these events being allowed were IMO idiotic. That was the date IMO when lockdown should have begun, not 10 days later. No Newcy and my point was more aimed at the poster I responded to who was going on about how the Gov could have reduced deaths here there and everywhere but to stop it spreading you would have to stop it getting here in the first place and the only way to do that you would have to cut the Country off completely. You've probably forgotten, but you yourself made some derogatory and entirely false comments about me last Sept when I asked what your science qualifications were, following a comment by another poster that you were a "chemistry expert" (which comment I eventually realised was a wind up!). We've since moved on I'm pleased to say :)
I write this only because most of the time when there is a spat going on between two individuals, unless there is overt name-calling and clear abuse (such as might be written by the more obvious trolls on the forum), the really hurtful comments are the more subtle ones designed to get under the skin of the recipient, which actually go completely unnoticed by the vast majority of other forum members. Only the two people concerned tend to *really* know what's going on.
I suppose it's refreshingly "normal" in these abnormal times for a personal shindig to be going on here! but it also seems such a waste of energy in the circumstances. I get that you both feel you've been dissed, but maybe take one end of the olive branch each? Just a thought. |  |

I've not forgotten and it wasn't abusive. You reported it and I still have the message from admin saying they didn't feel it was abusive and it was only removed to stop the issue escalating.
