Johnson still backing Cummings on 14:53 - May 25 by tractordownsouth
I'm starting to think this will have little impact. To large swathes of people, it's all the lefty media and the establishment having a pop at working class hero Dominic Cummings. Sure, they will lose some support, but as usual they've cobbled together some half arsed excuses as red meat for their base.
Depressing.
I can't believe anyone ever expected this to go any other way. The posts about him being done and taking BJ down with him are laughable. Untenable has no meaning in 2020 politics.
Cummings will be here for a long time yet. What can he realistically say today? He can repeat what BJ has said. That's it. Anyone expecting anything more than a rehash of previous comments and defiance is in for yet another disappointment.
Andrew Bridgen sez: "Many have judged Dominic Cummings without hearing his side of the story. That will change this afternoon and will be unprecedented. It’s possible that people will be surprised."
Does that mean CCHQ staff all had some creative writing homework last night?

Personally, I never felt BJ would have to resign (I think he'll go next year but that's another matter) but had misplaced faith that people would be able to see the double standards being presented.

I'll be less surprised than Andrew Bridgen was when he found out he wasn't eligible for an Irish passport

I guess some people just like being lied to.
100%.
To paraphrase... A Tory MP could sh1t in their hat and they'd want to buy them a pint, but a Labour MP could buy them a pint and they'd want to sh1t in their hat.

Some people don't mind as long it's their liar doing the lying.

A lot of people don't wear hats these days though.
