50,000 new cases a week in the UK, so not a surprise

It’s called an opinion. An opinion or a view doesn’t always have to be backed up with science or fact. One scientist has a different opinion to another. One fan has say, a different opinion on Paul Lambert or Marcus Evans to another.

But I fear you miss the point of my post. If folk could be trusted to obey the rules and social distance, then after over two months the time is right to start easing lockdown. You have to at some point in my view. But they can’t, so the time is not right. Look at the beaches, shops, parties. Folk have failed to follow the rules so can’t be trusted.

Hmmm but an opinion comes from somewhere, be it derived from facts, evidence, experience, prejudice or feelings etc.

An opinion always has a root, and other people knowing that root is important as it helps them to decide whether the opinion is likely a good one or not.

Erm - I think its fairly easy to work out when people died - because they are either dead or alive.

It is the government who chose to mislead the public by announcing recorded deaths... I suspect they have a mechanism in place to monitor actual deaths - or at least i hope they do. But the gross misrepresentation continues...

Out of interest and the staggering hostility to facts on here I had a quick look at the latest figures available...

NHS England announce that 146 people died on 30 May.....

Erm no... 20 died on 29 May, , 51 on 28th May, 14 on 27th May.... 48 occured between 1st and 26th May - and surprise surprise, 13 occured in April with the earliest 3rd of April - a mere 57 days ago.

I would like to point out to you, if you don't already know, that there are people on this site who work for the NHS. 1 in particular gives updates about their time treating Covid-19 patients on a daily basis. Your posts are not only ridiculous for us to read, but also incredibly disrespectful to those putting their lives at risk to try and save others. You might want to think about that before posting your lies.

Anecdotally I had heard this as well though; a friend of a friend's relative was a cancer patient on end of life care and had lived beyond what was expected. When he passed his relatives expected and wanted cancer to be recorded as his cause of death but the doctors insisted on putting coronavirus. They complained but nothing more came of it.

If you click on the thread and read through it, there are doctors breaking down why that is and how the certificates are done. It's very interesting and puts into stark contrast why this virus is so deadly and dangerous.

It's been clear for months now that it doesn't necessarily kill you outright, but tips your body over the edge as it were. So things you might have been surviving with or even fighting take over because of the damage and manner in which COVID 19 attacks the body.

I listened to some really fascinating research suggesting that Drs were sharing observations via WhatsApp and there was evidence that the blood composition is what allows the virus to thrive and overload your body.

That might explain why BAME patients, men (via a protein linked to testosterone) diabetics etc were all over represented in death tolls across the world. Obviously we are far too far away for the data to be comprehensively presented but it seems likely to me.

Especially when you consider how many old and how many fat people we have here and in America comparatively speaking.

And look at the scale of deaths compared to us across Europe

A former professor of pathology and NHS consultant pathologist writes -

"For Covid-19 only, the certification can be made by a single doctor, and there is no requirement for them to have examined, or even met, the patient. A video-link consultation in the four weeks prior to death is now felt to be sufficient for death to be attributed to Covid-19."

"For deaths in care homes the situation is even more extraordinary. Care home providers, most of whom are not medically trained, may make a statement to the effect that a patient has died of Covid-19. In the words of the Office for National Statistics, this ‘may or may not correspond to a medical diagnosis or test result, or be reflected in the death certification’. From 29 March the numbers of ‘Covid deaths’ have included all cases where Covid-19 was simply mentioned on the death certificate – irrespective of positive testing and whether or not it may have been incidental to, or directly responsible for, death. From 29 April the numbers include the care home cases simply considered likely to be Covid-19."

Wow, someone's very defensive. All I asked was what your opinion was based on.

Wife has just reported a neigbour to the police :-)

During first lockdown- had family down from London for a week or more.

Last weekend- some sort of bonfire / bbq party.

this time we have spotted a massive Yurt in the garden, with campfire and half a dozen people playing music from their car. May well be family- but clearly staying over. I was urging her not to bother, when she spotted them urinating against the wall...

Arrogance mainly. I shall refrain from commenting on the high hedges issue, or the party last summer, or the way he behaved towards my wife, or the planning permission which appears to have been complied with the in the most creative manner in order to achieve a garage for classic cars where there was previously a derelict barn full of greater horsehoe bats...
