Hadn’t seen this and just mentioned it on another thread. Maybe it’s pick and mix, chose one measure from each category .

And why was Jenrick announcing a major change in the rules at nearly midnight on a Saturday on Twitter? Presumably he’d been on the furlough Merlot, gone rogue and this will get corrected later today?

We also have shops and offices open- supposedly level 2. Raab said this morning we are still at 4. Which makes moving even to 3, hard to explain.

The traffic light system was facile and inane- and seems to have been ontroduced as a PR measure.

They want to give the impression that things are under control and that they have done a good job. All a PR stunt - even when the science and stats indicate otherwise. We are led by morons - but unfortunately large numbers of the population are also morons. I guess that's how they got there in the first place!

I thought this system was being controlled by region? Or was that another well intended but passing half truth.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

The lack of a viable alternative is the problem. With only two parties having a chance of getting into power for a lot of people voting is a case of opting for the lesser of two evils. If the majority of swing voters have even less faith in one of the two main parties than the other then the other gets elected by default so to speak.
Nothing will ever really change in the UK unless we get some more viable options as alternatives to Labour & the Tories. To blame current issues on a large number of the population being morons is far to simplistic as well as inaccurate.

In all fairness, if you still voted Tory given the evidence of their handiwork over he past ten years, you ARE a bit of one.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

The people ignoring social distancing and pushing the relaxation of lockdown to the limits are morons. Sometimes simplistic can also be pretty accurate...

What a shambles. They cobbled this together a few weeks ago, botched its launch, and are now not really paying any attention to it. Every day they seem to manage to reach new levels of ineptitude.

He actually said we are 'transitioning' from 4 to 3.

That probably means the rash incompetents thought we'd be at 3 by now - but can't admit yet another mistake.

'Following the science' clearly does mean puffing along somewhere behind it
