How much action, if any, do we think Morris could get this season? Is he close to getting into the squad?

Don't think he was far off from some involvement towards the end of the season, heard he was impressive in training having recovered from his long-term injury.

Is that Albie the one linked with Liverpool?

Yes.

Ross Crane is another who will be too old for the U18s next season as well, according to Alan Lee.

This is why we should not sign anyone, other than a centre forward.

Far too bigger squad last year which caused a lot of our problems as encouraged the manager to rotate.

Look at all of our best spells in the last 30 years, always been with a small, settled squad and a few youngsters. As soon as we have options in every position we fail. We only succeed when the sum of the parts is more than the individuals. Therefore it is all about team spirit, and you only get that with a small, close knit squad with everyone happy.

So there's hope for you yet Phil.

Phil put in a solid shift at left -back when I kept 2 clean sheets in goal on the pitch at Portman Road. Imagine a slow, bald Stuart Pearce.

I want Frank Nouble back here.

You've got to be on a wind up here. He was the most frustrating player ever, the potential was there he was quick, strong and on occasion could strike the ball beautifully. But 90% of the time his 1st touch was a clearance, would stray offside at every opportunity and whenever he went to head the ball he'd be landing at the point he should be meeting the ball. Conference level at best, had all the gear but no idea.

He’s closing in on 300 career appearances in the PL/EFL, so clearly isn’t ‘conference level at best’

He was also far better for us than much of our current shower, although I don’t agree we should be looking to get him back

You’ve done Frank dirty there, he’s no where near as ineffective as you’ve made out.

A bit off-topic but as someone in their early 40s it doesn’t seem too far away when, if a player didn’t make their debut at 18/19 then they weren’t considered good enough and they were let go.

I know that football has moved on but surly if a player is 19+ and are still down the pecking order then they should be let go. I know that injuries mean that some players are a bit behind and should be given the time for the club to assess them properly.

Then there’s the likes of Pennington and Garbutt at Everton. Mid-20s and clearly never going to get through at Goodison.

Joe that seems really top heavy. Out of interest if you combined the wages of all those how much do you think we pay out per week?

Ndaba was on the brink similar to Woolfenden wasn't he? Then had that horror performance for the 23s vs Birmingham wasn't it? Lambert was there and not come close since, bit harsh but I guess more going on behind the scenes?

I'd be surprised if any earn over £1k a week, and a lot will still be earning £300-400 a week so it won't be a big expense being laid out - will be topped up with bonuses if playing in the first team to bring them in line when they need to be if that makes sense
