3rd hottest day on record apparently - at Heathrow airport. In Bristol it was warm with a breeze - perfect. This evening feels like the heat will last till about 10. G&T's till dusk then. What's it been like in Suffolk?
Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?
No lockdown for me. I had a half day today, so enjoyed a bit of gardening. Got the shed roof re- felted and a good clear out of said shed.
I was tempted to go for a stroll on Weston-Super-Mare prom this evening. Takes no time to drive from Bristol. I used to then take the route over to Cheddar and do a fast hill-climb up the gorge and then onto Bristol via Chew valley and Dundry. I haven't got the car for it now, just a 1.4l slow lane hogger.

Sunny here in South Wales until about 2-3. Not especially warm though. Been down the beach this afternoon with the kids and body boards. The surf was awsome, but it wasn't warm. We've been about 17 degrees with a stif breeze on top, so not even close to scorchio.

Often pop down to Weston on a sunny weekend. It gets a lot of bad press, but always enjoyed the walks.

I've lost count of the times I'v been there for an evening drink but I can count on one hand the Sun setting on the sea with the lightbulb effect. It always seems to be hazy/cloudy. It might be the pollution from Wales.

It was hot just over the border this side.
How does the weather seem to know when it's in Wales?
I actually pulled over to take a photo of the dashboard temperature gauge which was still showing 41c* after a few minutes driving, and had only dropped to 40c when I got to my destination, admittedly only a journey from West to East Lewisham.
* I am used to it being +2 compared to official temp.
This is the highest I've seen on my cars in UK, my previous car, with a much more accurate temperature gauge, once recorded 43c in Aranjuez, just South of Madrid. In fact that trip we had a week of 40c+.

Can't think of one good thing to ever have come out of Wales.

30C even here in N. Yorks, which is rare. Mowed 2 lawns & had a nice kip in the sun unencumbered by annoying clothes. Followed by an unforecast cracking thunderstorm & deluge just finished - which is how come I'm sitting at my desk instead of being outside watering for an hour as I thought I'd have to!
Felt bistering in London today as I worked 12 1/2 hours outside in it. I sweat all the time anyway, but my blue T shirt haad large white salt marks covering it by the time I finished. Got home at 10-30 PM and can look forward to leaving home at 7-30 in the morning to do it all again.
No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
