Mine was Jackson isn’t a central striker in the 4-3-3. Drinan looked more of a natural in that role. Albeit he clearly isn’t that good. [Post edited 18 Aug 2020 21:43]

If we stick with 4-3-3 - and knowing Lambert that's anyone's guess - then Jackson will play as a wide forward, probably from the right. He's not a number 9 that can lead the line on his own, but we didn't really need a friendly with Colchester to tell us that. |  |

Jackson plays best in a 2 up front.
We apparently want to play a 3.
Jackson can’t seemingly play the central role which is Drinan’s speciality. Drinan is almost certainly not good enough either to do this but at least he’s a round peg in a round hole.
Jackson to my knowledge also can’t play in goal but is a more effective player than say James Pullen ever was.
Round pegs/Square holes.
