If the media don't publish it, why is it on Reuters?

Wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that we are seeing huge increases in cases, but less hospitalisations? Appreciate a large majority of cases are people under 40 so there is the caveat that it may not be as severe for that age group.

Good news, nonetheless.

There was another poster on here not so long ago boasting they don't get their news from mainstream media.

Being in the know, they prefer to 'rely on Reuters and Associated Press.'

Marvellous stuff.

Certainly ties in with the fact that cases are going up but hospitalisations are going down ...

Ha!

Yes, 'they', whoever 'they' may be, are very sly and only publish things on super-secret websites like Reuters and Associated Press for people to read. Pretty clever if you think about it. Hiding in plain sight.

I thought those 'in the know' relied on guido and other half-baked, partisan libertarian website?

The fact that there was a particular strain of the virus present in Singapore in Jan - Mar which had better outcomes is unlikely to be having much bearing on the data here.

Basically we're recording much lower death rates for lots of reasons - we're testing much more, we're catching a much higher proportion of mild / asymptomatic cases, we're generally catching cases earlier, older people are more wary, hospitals aren't stretched, and we have a better understanding of what treatments do and don't work.

Yep, a marvelous year: 50,000 excess deaths, an exams fiasco and a housing minister waiving through a massive development for a paltry sum of money. And all with a an enormous amount of self-inflicted damage to the economy to follow in December.

Yeah, but if you talk to people like that they'll eventually see sense. Same as that racist fella on the Tube most likely.

If you ignore those whole 'most deaths in Europe', 'no working track and trace', 'worst economic slump post-lockdown', 'hundreds of millions spunked on contracts for their mates', 'more healthcare workers dead than soldiers from Afghanistan' things...

Top bantz mate! Always love a good joke about a racist and incompetent government bungling the response to a pandemic when they could have prevented thousands of needless deaths.

But yeah, you're right. The horrible thing here is footers and myself not finding your 'joke' funny.

Think you'll find it's our responsibility to talk down to gazzer's sort and if they don't agree then it's all our fault they're bigoted idiots.

Or something.

I thought they'd respond well to people Telling It Like It Is. But maybe not.

Typical Sprucie, as usual changing the narrative completely and trying to belittle people. I know this board only belongs to you and two or three others, and those that don't toe your line gets the treatment. Read back what the original poster put and what I said tongue in cheek. Not looking for an argument with you just a little less hostility.

Footers, I do slightly object to the term my sort. You do not know who I am nor I you, Are you being racist or homophobic or what to me? If you truly knew who I am you would not insinuate that I am a bigot.
If you square that by "telling it like it is" you truly have a problem with people.

You can judge a man by the words he speaks. I have seen your words (unfortunately) for the last few years, so I can be a pretty fair judge on what you post. Perhaps you're the polar opposite offline, who knows.

Basically you're a right-wing, Brexit-loving xenophobe who doesn't listen to reason, even when asked. You'd vote for 'boris' even if he had his johnson in your missus, which is exactly what he's doing to you metaphorically. Oh well.
