Knowing how this league operates they may use Wigan as an excuse to call off the whole season and decide the final places but betting odds averages rather than play football.

Could the Wigan game be called off? on 10:56 - Sep 4 with 2184 views | Terry_Nutkins | I think by all accounts they are in a much better position then Bolton were. Bolton had about 3 seniors. Also they haven't called off any pre-season games and have been getting good results actually including 5-1 win at Bolton (Will Keane Scored for them and Garner 3). They have a shed load of trialists and some guys who were released still playing and training with them like Gary Roberts. I expect they will get worst case short terms deals to fulfill their fixtures. I think you could be 95% on this game going ahead. I imagine Gary Roberts, Will Keane, Joe Garner will be part of the Ipswich old boys coming to Town. We should out a cheeky bid in for Garner!! Expect his wages are too high.

Just clocked their pre-season results, not bad albeit not the toughest opposition all things considered. (Not like the mighty Cambridge United...) Noticed Gary Roberts played form them like you said. Can't believe he's still going at this level! Not sure if that says more about his longevity or about our demise... Looking at their squad now, you'd imagine they've sold all valuable assets so the squash should in theory get bigger than smaller. Assuming that's the case, hopefully you're right about going ahead! No doubt they've put feelers out to the EFL though.

I would look at Sam Morsy in CDM if Flynn left. Also saw Michael Jacobs is a free agent, always rated him and still only 28.

Christ, poor bloke looks older than Ward and Skuse combined. Lovely player in his day though.

Not really a like for like given Downes should really be an 8. I like Morsy but does seem to have the Ben Pearson knack for attracting cards. He'd surely go to a Championship club this window too if he hasn't got a deal sorted yet?
