That watched last night (or Luton last season) that thinks Edwards, Sears or Judge carry more of an attacking threat that Dobra

I don't expect PRP reads the board though

Edwards been decent so far this year, Judge not so much.

Personally I think Dobra would have more of an impact of the bench than Judge.

If Dobra goes out we have so little dynamism in our squad. Bishop to an extent, Lankester, then that's about it. He's only 19 so of course he's not the finished product but when did a 19 year old not being the finished product become a reason not to play them? Dozzer isn't the finished product either, nor is Woolfenden, that doesn't mean we shouldn't play them. The type of player Dobra is means there will be times he tries too much but at least he tries something.

Woolfie benefitted hugely from a seasons loan at Swindon.

Get Dobra out to a League Two club for the next few months with a recall in Jan.

We were a Championship side back then mind you. There's a difference between being ready for the Championship in a mediocre side at that level and being ready to play for one of the strongest sides in League 1. Loans are very hit and miss. Not sure Nydam going to St Johnstone has done much for his career. Ben Morris's loans didn't help him all that much either.

I would argue that Woofie benefited from L2 football due to the fact that he is a defender and had to deal with balls being lumped forward routinely as well as plus size forwards barging into him.

If Dobra were to go on loan to a L2 club then it’ll have to be a club that plays football on the deck and will allow him to express himself on the pitch.

Personally I think that at the moment we don’t need him to be the complete package but we need him to run at players without fear and create chances and be an actual threat. All the other stuff surly he can learn on the training ground and also during the actual matches as well.

Judge and Sears just seem to be players who go with the flow of the match rather than actually being able to change it.

Correct

Going on loan can help but the majority of players don't go on loan and they break through still

Before last night no one was advocating him to be included in the squad, I very much doubt half the posters on here have ever heard of him. Whilst he's clearly a talent, lets not cream our pants and use it as an excuse to continue this ongoing crying over Lambert.

I can't stand Lambert btw, think he should have gone, but we are where we are, so lets just deal with it.

When are these loans going to start too?
Heard McGavin, Dobra and Ndaba likely to be loaned out - that’s the heart of yesterday’s team gone. If we beat Crawley then that’s two more games we’d like to have those three with us.
Ndaba - feels like he hasn’t really put a foot wrong in pre-season, good on the ball, can cover left back it would seem. An argument that he should stay here more than Dobra?

Think most posters would have heard of Dobra as well as being aware of the talent he has.

He’s an exciting player who likes to run with the ball - I’ll include El Mizouni and Lankester in this mould as well. Fans like exciting players and personally I don’t think Sears or Judge fit that description.

Last season we were poor and played badly and some of this is due to the fact we simply plodded along and waited for something to happen. Rather than actually dictating when those moments happened - which if were brave and played those youngsters might well have happened. Obviously not in Lankesters case.

There is now, but coming through both Nydam and Morris were more highly rated prospects. Both capped at youth level for England, which isn't the case for Woolfie. Nydam broke into the first team here at a younger age when we were a half decent Championship side and didn't look remotely out of place.

You do realise that Dobra was on the fringes of the squad for most of last season and people were calling for him to get more opportunities last season as well?

He's undoubtedly been good imo, except for the last match and he wasn't alone there. A vast improvement from him playing out of position last year.

Judge has been injured for most of it so far to be fair to him, and he's managed a couple of assists.

I'd agree there's an argument for your second point though.

And that is almost exactly how I'd look to explain Luton, last season.

The talent is there, the decision making, at speed, is not yet the finished article. I'd have him out in League 2 for the season, rather than warming our bench.

Wouldn't you argue that perhaps even a lower League One club could make space for him?

Part of me thinks we should just chuck him in and let him learn on the job here, as he clearly is talented, but then again, I'm sure there probably are still a few players rightfully ahead of him in the pecking order at the moment.

A couple of assists? Think he took the corner for Chambers' header in the first game against Bristol Rovers but what was the other one? If you're referring to Edwards against Wigan, that was Norwood's assist.

As I said, he's clearly a talent, but he's only been on the fringes, and Lambert doesn't have a great record with youth, so my suggestion of sending him out on loan to someone, and hope he makes such an impact that Lambert can't afford not to include him, is the best possible scenario right now. It's a two pronged attack, he plays consistently, does well, comes back with supreme confidence and gives Lambert no option to start utilisjng him.

Whoscored has only given us 4 assists from 7 league goals, stingy bastards.
Lankester for tapping the ball sideways 3 yards to Nolan at Bristol Rovers,
Edwards for knocking Sears' deflected cross down to Nolan at MK Dons,
Norwood for mis-controlling the ball into Edwards' against Wigan.
Hawkins for his lay-off to Bishop against Rochdale.

Nobody got anything for the own goal at Bristol Rovers, nor Bishop's "yeet" goal nor Edwards' rebound against Rochdale.

Think Lankester should get an assist for the cross for the own goal. That led directly to a goal, which is the usual criterion for giving an assist.

A little mean not to give Sears an assist for both the other 2 really - his cross and shot that forces the defenders to jab it into path of another attacker

They get a bit funny over deflections when giving assists out. Maybe they don't do them for OGs either. Outrageous.

Good point, I was counting that one.

Instead I'll substitute it for the one on one chances he laid on for Drinan and Sears and say they should have scored.
