Kings of Anglia Podcast has some interesting tidbits 18:19 - Nov 30 with 8725 views | DublinBlue84 | Stuart Watson has pretty much gone out on a limb and says that the club are suffering from a bit of paranoia when it comes to how things have been for a while. Apparently the latest act is that they've now hired 24 hour security at Playford Road in order to prevent anyone laying any banners again which is surely a waste of m oney. Watson also spoke more strongly about first team photogate - he felt the approach taken by Stuart Taylor over photogate was a little bit heavy handed and they were trying to find out who told him more than anything else. The club also spent £100k on building a fence around Playford Road in the past in order to stop Bielsa style spying, which seems an awful lot of money. Andy Warren is also standing by that there have been a number of disagreements with Jim Henry and other members of the management team. Apparently Woolfenden liked a tweet about Lambert handling the youngsters badly as well. All in all not a happy camp and more proof that Lambert has to go but it also asks questions about the judgement of people higher up sanctioning decisions about security and fencing etc.

I'd wonder how the club knew that, I'd assume through someone on the Lincoln side who have told them that is the case, which was probably, ironically, leaked itself. Like others have said the whole thing makes no sense. If the club feel that there is a problem with information being leaked to members of the public, then surely they need to tackle those who internally are leaking such information, rather than targeting someone innocent like Phil who has done nothing wrong whatsoever. It does scream of looking for an excuse to be honest. But this is damaging the club and the link between the supporters. All of the good work Lambert did at the start of his spell, reuniting the club and it's fans has been undone and probably by the time he's gone we'll be even more divided.

Kings of Anglia Podcast has some interesting tidbits on 18:50 - Nov 30 by PhilTWTD | That's definitely right re Henry, I've heard that from several sources. I was going to run it on Friday but the club said the situation wasn't quite as I'd heard and to wait until they were ready to give comment. In the wider circumstances I held off and it was mentioned elsewhere before they'd got back to me this morning. Heard the same from other people over the weekend. The approach from Stuart Taylor regarding the team posted on here was the same, wanting me to give details of the poster, which obviously I can't do for data protection reasons. We had a further discussion on the way out of the ground on Saturday - I bumped into him and PL as I left and told them the matter was now public and had a chat about the matter without really getting anywhere - and he continued to ask for it. As Stu W says, they are paranoid, the implication being people are out to undermine them, as Stuart T said after Youngstersnotinphotosgate. The suggestion has been the same on the Lincoln team issue, particularly as they were told Lincoln had changed their team. Of course, as I've outlined, it was just a fan who had heard a bit of gossip and wanted to show they had inside info, nothing malicious at all. |
Phil, I have made a lot of assumptions about Marcus Evans giving first team managers much more responsibilities in their role that perhaps a traditional manager has to take on. (The basis of the assumption being lucrative contracts and Evans not being at PR routinely) Does this assumption hold merit based on the experience and relationships you've had with town mangers both before and after Evans coming to town? Further more, how do the managers respond to this rather strange hierarchy floating around the club, especially when the reported bickering is taking place - I can only assume there is a culture of finger pointing and point scoring when they come to reporting back to Evans. And an ever increasing percentage of those who don't give a fook are the ones who fork over their hard earned week in, week out. They've lost the bloody plot. |

Not really, managers such as PL or MM are far less involved in off-field stuff than Bobby Robson was back in the day. They're the first team manager and that's their domain, they take an interest in other stuff obviously but they're not in charge. For example, the recent appointment of Kieron to be the U23s coach would have been more Lee O'Neill's area as academy manager than his, Bryan Klug probably having some input as well. Back in Sir Bobby's day he basically ran the club from top to bottom. From making business decisions and negotiating contracts with players to choosing the boardroom carpet. The modern managers don't get involved in any of that. Thinking to the pre-Evans days, I don't think things would have been much different under GB, JR and JM to how they are now.

Problem is, 10 of us could have a go at naming the team claiming to be ITK, and one of us is bound to get it right. This is a shambolic way to run a club.

When you say they you presumably mean certain individuals as you seem to have a continuing good relationship with other at the club. The real problem isn't that you won't, quite rightly, give them the posters details it is that someone within the club leaked the information.

Well yes, that is true. But I think it's impossible to stop that sort of info leaking out, particularly in a relatively close-knit community and when a lot of players in and around the squad are local lads.

Wasn't the whole 11, just the major news of Gibbs, Cornell and Woolfenden. Ha, just as soon as Stuart Taylor catches up with him!! [Post edited 30 Nov 2020 21:04]
