It will have been done to protect his value when Evans sells him in the summer and no agent worthy of the name would allow the lad to sign a three year contract at this shambles of a club without negotiating a clause allowing him to leave if a bid of a certain amount comes in. |  | | |

I will admit that I didn't think Andre would sign a new deal. Even if it is to plump up a potential transfer fee, it was a welcome and unexpected development. His bizarre green shoots statement last week might actually be a show of solidarity around the younger player who he is going to be negotiating with this year, of which there are plenty.
