The Andre deal is everything good about Marcus 20:47 - Dec 4 with 5552 viewsBluefish

He couldn't have come cheap and he must have also been sold a dream. Andre could have easily walked away for far more with his contract situation. I wonder if he has been promised KD as manager within the year

So you're saying he's got a £3m release clause?

P.S. "Don't come here crying"

There is no need for that kind of provocation, I was engaging you in debate without making it rambunctious.

I don’t know what the release clause is and I apologise if I came across as argumentative. I’m sure Evans knew Andre could go for nothing and instead got him to sign something that meant he’d get a few quid. He’s a snake and he does not care about our club.

I think we vastly over rate our team, I dont think he had to be sold on a dream, his agent would have already been probing other clubs for what he might get elsewhere and it probably wasn't any better.

It’ll allow us to see his worst quality when he sells the lad in January with 2 days of the window to go and replaces him with a 20 year old loanee.

Agree and I think to this end Evans doesnt always get the credit he deserves.

Calling out the fans for daring to criticise Mick after he delivered our worst performance in how many years is just plain wrong

Ipswich fans have been full of doom-laden predictions about selling off Dozzell cheaply since he broke into the first team. It only stopped in the Summer because his 2019-20 season wasn't great.

I expect Dozzell's mainly signed a new contract because he was promised a wage rise and 3 years of stability, which means a lot when the game is in financial turmoil and you've had a big injury early in your career.

You've got to be more balanced than this. Evans turned down summer bids for Downes and pushed away interest in Woolfie.

Whilst there'splenty wrong he clearly isn't just cashing his chips.

Just on the subject of Dozzell, suspect that if he did get a transfer to a top team soon, they would spend a lot of time working on his defensive side - his tackling, aerial ability, positional sense, and bulk him up a bit. Then he might be one of those players who emerges a bit later, e.g. at 23 / 24 as potentially a top midfielder. His instinct for a pass and vision etc. would look v good in a top team with decent movement and patterns of play.

I don't think she suggested the deal was negotiated in a day.

But this week's goings on may have made Evans say "oh fck it, just give him what he wants and get it signed" .

Agree - by and large over his time here you can't really criticise him for cashing players in. Turned down 9M for Didz wasn't it? Plus we played hard ball on Waghorn for as long as we could and the ones you have just mentioned plus more.

It's arguable that, bar Summer 2018, we go too far the other way. That we aren't great at building up and realising a player's value, then re-investing the money well.
