Just about did enough after the red card... 16:54 - Dec 5 with 1331 viewsitfcjoe

....what a stupid boy though.

Could that be a big win? Table looks encouraging - and 442 has surely shown Lambert it is how we will score goals

Almost like we're more dangerous without an isolated 1 man up front on his own, who would've thought.

Stupid second yellow from Mayor, did us a real favour there. On balance I thought we were good for a point before that, without ever really looking too dangerous. Still, good to get through Dozzell's suspension with 3 points and now 2 big back to back home games where we really need to be looking for another 4 or 6 points.

Needed the points so regardless of anything else that's huge — and the other results show that this league is still there for us if we can kick on. Dozzell back next week so personnel-wise we look stronger, now need to make it count.

4 points on the road a good week, need to follow it up at home though

Can’t see us changing the formation from the start but think it’ll help to establish 44effin2 as plan B whenever we’re chasing a result.

The petulant red card changed the game but I thought we played much better football today in our approach play, and after no goals for ages to hit two in a minute felt good!

Much needed, but I think we did enough. Can’t remember too much Plymouth did other than a really good finish.

Hopefully find some momentum, and fitness. Will mean nothing if we don’t back it up next 3 games.

We usually struggle against 10 men, so that was a refreshing change.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Stupid first yellow as well. Bit harsh maybe as I don’t think he was genuinely trying to timewaste but should have just put it in once it was obvious the routine he was trying to do wasn’t on.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I think that on balance, they looked more likely to win it than us. Yes, Jackson had his chance (but the defender did well) and we should have had a penalty but we won as much down to a silly foul that got Mayor his second card as anything. His first card was rather harsh in my opinion too. Very few refs would have booked him for time wasting that soon. Once on a card, though, a silly foul to do right in front of the ref.

They put a lot of balls into the box that McGuinness and Cornell just about dealt with.

Don't get your hopes up, it was a rare smash and grab against 10 men.

We will lose more than we win playing this way.

Hey Joe,

All I look for is some incremental progress, and if we can have that with 4 or 5 first teamers out, then its even more welcome.

Today still wasn't good enough, BUT, there were about 6 passages of attacking play when we got the tempo increased and broke the lines with the triangles deep with CMs then to Nolan then into Dobra/Jackson. That is a platform. Increase the confidence and the tempo, that starts to happen 10, 15, 20 times a game and we are a completely different proposition.

It was interesting today that when a CB heeded Lamberts ask to be more adventurous, the opposition just fell away. We need this all the time.

Nothing to get too excited about. But if we could then see progress again against Pompey (who we did well against despite a very weak side).. and then get Dozzell, Norwood, KVY, Bishop and Edwards back, we're in a different ball game.

McGavin looks a real prospect, he's is improving with each game.

Dobra had real impact in a league game, where he's tried to hard before and been ineffective. He almost gives us more than Lankester and Bishop with the pace.
