I posted on another thread that it just makes no sense that he's still here. Reportedly he had the three games this week to prove himself, we've lost two of them and I can't imagine 3 points from 3 games would have been seen as the benchmark for him proving himself. 3 points from 3 games is dire, it's relegation form. That is now the absolute maximum we can achieve from these three games, so why even bother giving him the Crewe game? Even if we win then surely his time here is over anyway?
The only feasible explanation is that Evans wants someone lined up before he pulls the trigger, but I really can't see how Dyer or Butcher (or both) as caretakers for a game or two could do any worse than Lambert.

Apparently Evans has decided to give him a go with four new loan signings. Three of those will be freebies, obviously, because they're new and he's got to bed them in you know. By which time we'll presumably have a few more injuries he can attribute things to, so that'll be another stay of execution.
