Anyone having a lovely old roast today? 13:46 - Jan 31 with 2351 viewsfooters

What's on TWTD's dinner table this Sunday? Do we have any swede and carrot mash, is J2 putting ketchup on his roast or have your yorkies failed to rise?

That's more like it! You'll need a few pints to wash that down with too remember.

Lettuce, tomato, home-made potato salad, taramasalata and some sliced tongue. For the added summery vibe, it's just started snowing.

Home made meatball curry. It’ll be really lovely, but seeing that word ‘roast’ has got me thinking of a nice piece of topside, roasties, Yorkshire pudding, veg and a thick gravy washed down with a few glasses of red. Grrr

I always want what someone else is having.

I started at the top of the page thinking, "Ooh that sounds nice".

Then I saw the next one and thought "Oh, I dunno, I fancy that now."

By the time I'd got to the bottom of the thread, my sea bass sounded a bit dull.

I'm making apple crumble and it'll be a hit:

Base:
Apples
raisins
Orange juice
Peach Snapps
cinnamon.

Topping - all the usual, plus a mix of Alpan and brown suger on top.

This is the only recipe I'm confident of.

Marinaded some cubed chicken breast in yoghurt and Indian spices for 4 days. Yesterday half cooked it with a onion, tomatoes, peppers base.

Finished off today in the slow cooker and dishing up with rice and broccoli. Probably got about 4 servings to will throw a couple of servings in the freezer and have one for lunch tomorrow :-)

Heh.

I fancied a roast today but I really need a day or 2 of healthier oil-free food, in this instance a plate of steamed fish and veg.

That way I can off-set the week ahead eating what I like until the next episode of "I suppose I should make a bit of an effort" sets in.

I cooked a pan of onions last night with a curry or two in mind in the next few days.

Now I want a curry instead.

I hope it's not true but apparently getting through one of the last batches of Harleston Ciders (Dad dropped it off saying they have stopped production). A preposterously large baked potato with slow cooked chilli brisket and a mountain of guacamole and cheese heaped on said tattie to accompany. And the fire is on. Nice.

Not long til my roast Silverside will be ready, and it will be served with swede mashed with butter and a sprinkling of cayenne.

You are killing me. Apple pie, crumble, strudel etc is food of the gods. My favourite dessert bar none. Your recipe sounds one to try 👍🏻

A large pork pie purchased from Suffolk Food Hall.

I've come to the conclusion it was the finest pork* pie i've ever tasted.

Beans on toast for dinner this evening.

*A hint of haslet flavour in the middle dear boy.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

Roast pork and crackling, roasties in rosemary and garlic, yorkshires, carrots, broccoli in cheddar and mustard sauce.

Good long walk on the beach in the drizzle to follow it and now enjoying a couple of beers with the football.
