It’s a gamble. If the loanees help us get promoted then great, they’ve been worth it. Anything other than that, then yes you’re right. As you say it’s not a long term plan, but football will always require an element of short term thinking. Bottom line is the manager thinks our chances in the short term are improved by doing this. Only time will tell. | |

Have to say I remember Matheson playing against us for Rochdale last season and he was outstanding. At the time I thought he would be a brilliant signing for us although it was clear that he would be snapped up by a bigger club even then.

If these kids have a big impact, which is a big if, it will be the biggest fluke ever. But if this dice throw did get us up, what then? The idea of going up is that you're too good for the level you're at and need to be at the one above. If these 6 loans help get us up and then all go back to their clubs, is what's left really good enough for the division above?
It's a shocking way to run things, and the stupid thing is we've seen it not working before. I can only think Evans is so loyal to dead ducks because it bruises his own ego to admit his (yet another) mistake. | |
