I'd like to see Palace go down 20:18 - Feb 22 with 3172 viewsdominiciawful

I don't know about anyone else, but to me they're quite a nothing club and don't bring anything to the PL. Been up there for nearly eight years after scraping promotion through the play-offs with 72 points. If not this year then hopefully they'll go down next season. I throw them in with Watford and QPR as the kind of club it's been galling to see up there whilst we've sat around endlessly making the wrong decisions for years.

It’s faintly amusing for sure but I still demand to be able to use the same description about reading if that’s ok? The most pointless club in history..

That’s a very valid point. But, alas, merely brings to mind another Lambert highlight: reading’s ex scummers taking the piss in front of the North Stand

Do they still train in Godstone at one of Ron Noades properties? Met him several times a few times years ago. Horrid man. He was a sell your grandmother type. Have a lot of friends who support Palace, we used to have a Town fans & Palace fans meet-up before the game at Selhurst Park. I lived & worked in the area for many years. Some good hearted fans!

I think the Godstone training ground was just a temporary thing. Not sure where they train now.
Never met anyone who has ever said a decent word about Noades to be honest.
On another note, I now live a stones throw away from West Ham’s David Gold. He is actually a very decent chap. Every spring he opens his gardens up to the public to raise money for local charities and is always around happy to chat with us ordinary folk.

I’ve always liked Palace but Jesus, they’re a hard watch at the moment.

Parish? I’m surprised you’ve even noticed him in fairness. He seems like a bit of a grey suited nobody.

I like them, my second team. When I was a kid I lived a 15 minute walk from the ground and sold programmes to get in for nothing. They had Wright, Bright, Thomas and Steve Coppell in charge and while they were ground sharing with Wimbledon or Charlton I got to see a couple of Town games a season (as I had no way otherwise). When a bit older I did some work on their lottery team, an odd claim to fame being that as I left the building a member of the press thought I was Marco Gabbiadini who was signing that day - it showed the quality of our press as Marci is 5'7 and I'm 6'3.....

Yep. Travesty really that they're above brighton Brighton in the table when you consider the differences in philosophy.

Yes, it’s a travesty that they’ve earned more points so far, scored more goals and won nearly twice as many games. Absolute travesty

I’m not as close as you! I’m in Caterham. Palace are very active in Tandridge.

I must admit I had to look up Caterham and Tandridge. Yeah, you're a lot further south than me.

We haven't been here long (since about 2 weeks before the first lockdown) so haven't had chance to gauge how active Palace are here. I've always had a soft sport for them though. I have an ITFC mate who's married to a Palace girl, and over the years (when we used to play Palace regularly) there were a group of our lot who met up with a group of their lot. Like me they are/were big Carter USM fans and I remember having a drunken night in The Cherry Tree by Norwood Junction signing Carter songs with them.

Always thought of Palace as a similar club to ourselves, not sure why anyone would have an issue with them really.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

With the dinosaurs? Take my nephew there quite often, or did when I was allowed to, nice area, a decent pub lunch in the place alongside too.
Not too far on the overground for me.

Oh, and I like Palace, decent kit, decent away day, fans seem real.

Yeah I'm literally a 5 minute walk from the dinosaurs. It's a lovely park - I jog round it most mornings. The other morning I jogged past a bloke wearing ITFC shorts so I shouted "Lambert out" at him. He seemed in agreement.

By pub alongside I presume you mean Westow House where the park meets the triangle. Not been in there yet but they apparently do a good Sunday lunch.

Yeah I've always had a good away day going to Palace.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

That whole 'let's get a competent manager' in thing really doesn't sit with you, does it?

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
