Really bad start from Cook 17:00 - Mar 27 with 6361 views | thebooks | Whether this is a good, bad or indifferent squad, Cook has failed to get anything more out of them than Lambert or Gill. We shouldn’t have been happy with writing this season off. There’s no reason why the Cowleys can turn round Portsmouth but Cook can’t do anything with Town. Huge pressure from the start of next season. Feeling like Lambert again at the moment.

Really bad start from Cook on 20:22 - Mar 27 by PJH | There is little point in changing managers at all unless it is expected that the new one coming in is going to improve things-unless the outgoing one is leaving for another job. |
The point is to change for long-term success. I expect things to change long-term and if it doesn't, I'll start crying then. Many successful managers - eg: Ferguson, Robson - didn't make instant positive impacts. We have had two very poor managers in a row across a three year period. To expect things to change overnight is deluded.

Really bad start from Cook on 11:17 - Mar 28 by pointofblue | No one is saying rip up the league - beating a side who had lost their last seven home games against top half sides by an aggregate score of 20-4 would be nice, though. |
We have the joint fourth worst goal scoring record in the division. So we were hardly likely to suddenly start ripping it up, despite facing poor defences.

Really bad start from Cook on 11:44 - Mar 28 by haynes_toe1 | Nevermind Klopp or Guardiola...id bet a decent sum that Mick would have got more out of this side in 5 games than Cook has so far. |
still crying about MM | |

I agree, and I said as much. A 1-0 win with a reasonable performance would have been nice and I presume the very least predicted from this game when Cook first took over.

Actually Robson did make an instant impact although the next two and a bit seasons were a struggle. SBR'S first 16 games at the end of 1968/69 was P16 W7 D6 L3 in the top division. Prior to his arrival it was P26 W8 D5 L13.

Really bad start from Cook on 11:53 - Mar 28 by Churchman | I bet he wouldn’t. MM had something to work with. PC doesn’t. Plenty of bodies about the place but of our players, if they were all released tomorrow how many do you think would wind up at top half League One clubs or better? |
When MM took us over in an arguably worse predicament with likely worse morale he made an instant impact so..

For MMs first game he had Henderson in goal, Cresswell and Edwards at full back, Higginbottom and Chambers in central defence, Murphy and DJ Campbell up front. Ok, the midfield of N’Daw, Welles’s, Reo-Coker and Martin was a bit rubbish. On the bench was Smith, Mohsni, Chopra, Drury, Emmanuel-Thomas and Scotland. Ok not the finest bunch of Championship players, but he had some people amongst that little lot that who could do it. Some decent professionals for that level and potential goals too. They were in an awful league position, but he had the players. What has Cook got? A league 2 centre forward, a few younger players that may get better, some has beens, a group sharing the B&Q treatment table and Poundland sponge, one or two half decent but injury prone, and a load of loanees. If people want him gone already I can wait to hear who you think can get this crowd doing anything.
Really bad start from Cook on 15:03 - Mar 28 with 1004 views | BiGDonnie | It's not a bad start from Cook, it's a continuation of terrible, weak performances from a bunch of overpaid and under talented footballers. Trust in PC, I'd literally only keep about 6 of these players and look to bring in some proper experience and grit to help guide them. KVY Woolf Dozzer Bish Downes Lankester

Really bad start from Cook on 10:33 - Mar 30 with 919 views | BlueWorldOrder | Prior to Cook coming in we had improved again and were on the up. We had a relatively easy run towards the end of the season and Lambert proved last season and much of this that we could in fact beat most of the weaker teams in this league and go top at times. Cook has come in and we're playing the worse we have since relegation and the support has wholesale turned on the players to back Cook. Players don't get bad overnight. The only thing that has changed is the manager. Go figure.

'Players don't get bad overnight' - They had been relegated without showing any hunger to desire yet our 'special fanbase' clapped and cheered them for that. - Finished 11th last season - 11th at the moment and showing bad, lazy attitude. What further evidence do you need that the current crop is the disgrace of our shirt? [Post edited 30 Mar 2021 10:41]
