Really?

After a few beers do you not still swear about Brexit and swing open your doors and windows and shout at your neighbours for their stupidity?

No?

Just me then.

I don't need beers to swear about the idiots who fell for the Brexit con! It's the first thing I do when I get up. Some people have a cup of tea or meditate. I swear like a trooper at Brexidiots, like a drunk haranguing pigeons in the park. Def info.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I blame Richard Wright for demanding a move to Arsenal.

Well you could say that I suppose, but when you think about it, it goes way back further than that - it's really the FA's fault for asking SBR to leave us & take the England job, the barstewards

Edit - apparently I should have explained that this was a joke ...

That's just so stupid it doesn't deserve a dignified response.

Enjoy your evening doing whatever it is you do.

Dislike it if you like but it's true.

Micks time was up and everyone knew it, the club was stale... it was our worst league position for I donr know long and the football had become appalling. We deserved better. Evans made the wrong choice sure but it doesn't change the fact that Mick had to go... he'd been here too long, fresh ideas were needed, it's just a shame they came from Hurst

Poll: Will Phil ever confirm we are actually close on a signing ever again

No difference?

So not noting that we are in a league below?

Wow.

5 years ago on a Saturday night were you happier being 12th in the Championship compared to 12th in League 1?!
It’s boring horrendous football however you look at it. Not worthy of a ‘wow’ is it?

He's got a point!

Besides, I still want to know exactly what it was that poor ol' Daisy did to deserve such a label.

I only know it was food related, which led to many a disagreement with my own dogs in the past.

The ungrateful, greedy, thieving so & so's.

Does he have a point though?
I've said it before but I'd be very surprised if a few hundred angry weirdos were the reason for Evans choosing to not renew McCarthy's contract, I'd guess it had more to do with the rapidly shrinking attendances. Is it fair to blame people for choosing to not spend their own money? I personally don't think it is.

And I say this as someone who doesn't feel particularly strongly either way about McCarthy.

I survived Ipswich 0-0 Burton

We didn't get to the point of renewing contracts or not.

He'd walked out before that.

This is rewriting and irrelevant anyway.

Once again, what is wrong with you people?

You said this: "Mick delivered our worst position for how many years"

Now look where we are. That's the point.

So don't keep changing your stance each and every time you get challenged on it looking to score points.

Either this "Mick delivered our worst position for how many years" counts now or it doesn't.

It's not complicated.

Some of us saw what was coming, some of you didn't.

You crow in your own ignorance then try to make out it's everyone else.

Yet again, what are you talking about?

I have quoted your own sentence 3 times.

You insist on replying with something different every time.

But when I saw this coming earlier on and said I wouldn't get involved I got accused of being 'wound up' by Portman thingy person.

You have to wonder at some of the mentality on here at times.

My humble advice to people would be, 'Read what is written, and not what you want to see is written'.

Then life will be a lot simpler.

McCarthy walked out after the Barnsley game, it was confirmed his contract wasn't being renewed after the Bristol City game three weeks earlier.

So in this instance you're actually the one rewriting history lol.

Struggling to see how my post is rewriting anyway, the only thing I state as fact is that attendances were shrinking (a fact), the rest is just my opinion on what Evans would have done and whether it's fair to blame people for not spending their own money.

What's interesting is a few Irish tweeters have brought up the coincidental fact that a lot of Mcarthys teams suffer immediate ill fortune once he leaves the position - Discussing that their international team which apparently went downwards after his tenure

Does he over perform, or does he create such a dressing room that only works for him, which doesn't leave the club/country in a great position when he does leave..................

This argument is flawed as there’s three-years and three managers worth of hindsight to make that claim. No-ones arguing we’d be in a better league and probably division position had Mick stayed but given how low we’d sunk (at the time) and how stagnant it had become, it was (at the time) a period for change - this much was painfully obvious.

The fall out from that isn’t a Mick or the fans fault (as Mullet would dearly love everyone to believe). We rolled the dice and came up short. Did we have to roll the dice? The wide consensus was, yes. Only those who were ardent Mick fans are now saying “I told you so”, when that’s also a bit of revisionism. If I recall, the main debate was that if Evans wasn’t going to back Mick then we should get someone in who he would back. Obviously, Evans didn’t do that either.

We are where we are based on a sequence of negative events presided over by a litany of poor decision making, not a singular even or catalyst.
