I've asked a few people about why he's still here and the consensus seems to be that he's determined not to be seen to have failed here and that he genuinely enjoys owning the club.

I get that owning a football club is a huge achievement personally. But the past 13 years will be ingrained in the history of ITFC with no signs of change. Would be more respected if he openly said he cant take the club any further and looked to sell.

The thing is he's already failed here. Success was getting us to the Premier League and that's not happening under Evans.

Ultimately sounds like most negotiations where it all comes down to money. It's in Evans interests of course to appear a bit unwilling to sell, in order to test how much extra the buyer might be prepared to pay to persuade him. The fact it is still under discussion tells me he would like to sell, he's just trying to maximise his price.

I hope that an agreement can be reached. The club desperately needs an investment, not just of cash but of ambition, ideas, and a fit for purpose management structure. Look at smaller clubs like Brentford, they overtook us because of strategy, recruitment, fitness, management not just cash.

Indeed, more than anything that chart shows what madness the Championship is at the moment.

Why is Evans doing this? He can't be this stupid surely?

I actually now think I dislike him. Like how much of a egotistical idiot can you be to continue the current way he has been doing things.

There’s no progression. There’s no improvement. It’s just poor. We decline year on year under Evans. He has to go.

I predicted in 2015 within a few years we’d be a bang average league 1 side. I now predict by 2028 we are a bang avenger league 2 side.

Does that show that town were being sensible financially.... so the hate is misdirected regarding finances...

Add fees on and we're unlikely to be anywhere near Barnsley and certainly not above 8-10 clubs. I'd like to see the evidence for that one.

No doubt we have the biggest budget in league one. I've repeatedly said I expect Cook to get us up but long term we will continue to decline.

Remember this is about more than wages. This is about fees, investing in coaches and physios etc, investing in infrastructure and investing time. Evans refuses to delegate power (source: Phil) and the current structure just does not work.

I’m agreeing with you on one point. Fees I don’t know, but wages we were paying ‘enough’ to see us above where we are now IF you just base league positions on money spent (broadly speaking)

Set up and back room staff I agree, that’s what Evan’s has to address

My main beef with Evans is competence, not investment.

Not quite as mad as some certainly. But I think it was mainly down to ME not having the cash to spend more than he already was doing.
