It will likely suit many league one and two clubs to cap fees for good in return for a bit of extra cash. Prem clubs will then win by being able to loan loads of players out. The sooner we get out of this joke division the better.

Max £20000 transfer fee in summer on 14:19 - Mar 31 with 3681 views | clive_baker | I don't think these restrictions would impact us too much in the short term anyway, we were always likely to be fishing around the free transfer market. Could anyone really see ME putting his hands in his pockets and spending a million on a player? We're still in a position where we can offer compelling salaries and on paper we're a relatively big proposition at our level, so we really can't point to this as an excuse. There will be plenty of good players released from Championship & L1 clubs that we should be pushing the boat out for, not to mention internationally. Hopefully we take a quality rather than quantity approach next season, I would much rather we gave good money to 6 of the right players than end up with a squad of 50 again that's unmanageable, cheap, and no better than what we already had available. Fewer and better please.

Definitely sounds like a feeder league doesnt it. What can you even buy for £20000 a national league player?? If they then come up with another crazy wage limit of 2k per week you'll be left with the prem and championship as leagues and then anything lower will just be supporting those two leagues imo.

I get what your saying and despite what we think of them. The likes of Jackson. Edwards. Toto etc were all over £1 mill. I suppose no one could blame Evans for not investing... he wouldnt be able to even if he wanted to. An interesting summer ahead I think. Lots of battles with other clubs no doubt [Post edited 31 Mar 2021 14:22]

None of them were signed in L1 though. The only player we've paid money for in the 4 windows we've had at this level is KVY. It'll definitely be an interesting summer, lots out and lots in I imagine, and lots of change off the field too. We're in safe hands, and our pockets are relatively speaking quite deep compared to those around us and what we've demonstrated we can invest by way of wages. Eg. Norwood last summer.

Posh will be hoping they go up. Their model has been buying strikers for around £1 mill plus and selling on down the line for 3 times or more.

Everyone has spotted this article is dated December 3rd 2020 right and the £20,000 cap was apparently in the last January window and was clearly a bull sh it article. No one has heard of Restriction of Trade, no? [Post edited 31 Mar 2021 14:48]

Show me where. Apart from The Fail it says there was a cap in January. A press release from the EFL would be good. Happy to be proven wrong.

The lower-league clubs will also be restricted to paying fees of just £20,000 and £10,000 respectively for the whole of the 2021-22 season I did ask if anyone has seen anything since. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/13380033/league-one-two-banned-transfer- [Post edited 31 Mar 2021 14:52]

Unsure if theres been any updates on this as cant see any That's me asking if anyone has seen anything since December columns.. Based on your efl link. It does say the below. So that would be interesting to know what the restrictions are. Clubs subsequently in receipt of a ‘monitored grant’ will be subject to certain restrictions, in respect to transfer spend and player wages [Post edited 31 Mar 2021 15:00]

Max £20000 transfer fee in summer on 15:03 - Mar 31 with 3292 views | PhilTWTD | From what was in the EFL statement, the capping only applies regarding a secondary grant rather than accepting the help per se. It would surprise me if we've had that. EFL and Premier League Agree Rescue Package 3rd Dec 2020 13:00The EFL and Premier League have announced that they have agreed a rescue package and distress fund aimed at addressing the financial challenges facing EFL clubs due to the coronavirus pandemic. 6 But I would imagine most deals at this level are going to be free transfers this summer.

Will be interesting to find out in the AGM I guess if we took additional help. The first help. Covers what 3 home games?

Did Me say each home game costs the club £179,000 or have I misread that somewhere. If that is correct.. the EFL grant effectively covers 3 home games.. so leaves a massive gap for ME to cover himself. [Post edited 31 Mar 2021 16:17]
