I have been told this morning that Luke Chambers has been informed we won’t be taking up the extra year in his contract.
Apparently he is still wanted at the club, and the club are trying to get him in a role somewhere behind the scenes. I guess it will all depend if Chambers still wants to play, even if that be elsewhere.

I disagree about Nsiala. Sure, he isn't a fluid, ball-playing centre back - but then few are at this level. What he is great at is putting himself in the way of shots heading goalward. Think how frequently we hear the words "good block by Toto". That's an important asset. |

I think it far more sensible to retain LC as a player if he is to have any staff role at the club, he may not have full seasons in him but imo he is more than capable of playing with us or without for another 2 years at least if he stays injury free etc etc!
But to have him in the building without being a registered player for me would be a mistake. but like everyone I have this opinion with no knowledge of what the summer will bring in player wise!!
If offered a staff role here poor Luke will have one hell of a decision to make, not easy at all, I feel for him. |  | | |

I don't get the desperation to slag off some of the more trusted characters around the club.
Sure, Chambers is getting too old now to be considered a first team regular etc but it would be good if people could let him leave with a bit of grace.
