What’s happened to Lankester? 06:37 - Apr 25 with 3266 viewsArnieM

I can see we keep playing Bennett’s, but where the hell is Lankester? Is he injured?
Bennett’s is not the answer and Id be very disappointed if we attempted to sign him.

Is Lankester the answer? He’s not really pulled up any trees this season. He’s just not been the same player since returning from his back injury. I really liked what I saw of him during his debut season, but I do worry if that injury has had a bigger impact on him than we all realise physically and mentally.

Thought I read that he was stretched off in training.

If injury prone maybe the rumours of him not being kept are correct!

Hmmm I was afraid he might be injured. I wonder if his spinal issues are more of a problem than first thought ? Some players just physically cannot cope with rigours of professional football .

Or pick up an injury too young and their body’s healing process means they cannot reach the heights they otherwise would have done.

I was hoping the new regime would get on top of these injury problems but if we are stretching players off in training that is not a good sign.

Difficult to pull up trees when you have your arms strapped to your side. Which effectively what playin* with this lot must be like.

Almost certainly. Top teams don't lend out top talent without a guarantee of a certain number of games - if we don't meet that there'll be a penalty clause plus the word gets around and loans become much harder.... What we should be doing is getting the one off player as per MM (like Lawrence, Celina) that we couldn't hope to obtain otherwise, not collecting the seven or whatever we have now - arguably none of which improve the team.

Exactly this. Evans made some diabolical decisions over the years, but to let PL get more loans in the last transfer window was totally ridiculous.

Nope, it certainly doesn’t. I think he had a stress fracture for one of his problems. Not sure what the second one was.

JL has been poor when played anyway. We're not missing him particularly. I'd rather he was played over Bennetts if available, because Bennetts sucks, but he's not, so moot point

Think it will take a minimum of one year to sort that issue out not five minutes..!!

Doesn’t convince me enough to want him in a promotion pushing team.

It's hard to judge based on the infrequent starts, he looks more like he'll end up being a centre midfielder now

He seems to have a goal in him, perhaps he'll have to drop down before he works his way back up

We will see, it would be a shame to see him go

The ‘new regime’ might just need a little bit of time to address the issue.
Do you think you can be patient for a little bit longer?
