He’s not wrong, people personally attack him and other players up and down the country based on seeing less than 1% of their life through social media, but talk about them and hurl abuse at them as though they know them personally.
We see then as footballers, and as football fan it absolutely fine to form opinions on them as a footballer, but nobody really these players personally.
I like looking through Twitter and Instagram etc, but I’ve never put out a tweet in my life, lots and lots of arguments on there it seems. |

These are grown men, they can handle their own social media accounts how they please.
He gets into debates/rows with people on social media, so what, we all do it on here at some point, people do it all the time on Twitter, I just don’t get the issue with his social media persona at all, and nobody has given any genuine reason yet why it’s an issue.
I’m not sure what the many aspects of his off field life he needs help with, but as you clearly know him so well, it sounds as though you are better placed to inform us what they are. |  |

He needs a really good pre season I feel. He never had one this year, recovering from his surgery. Felt as though he never got going at all.

I never get these comparisons people make between "the real world of working life" and football. It's absolutely apples and oranges.
In a regular job you aren't required to excel competitively. You are required to do the things in your job description competently, but there's no requirement that you do them better than anyone else doing that job. If I do my job well I'm never going to be sacked simply because somebody else might be able to do it better than me.
If playing football was like normal employment there's no way any of our players would be "removed from post". They show up to work, train when told to and play football matches, as stipulated in their contracts. |  |

The hypocrisy when he said: “I think the issue comes when people start talking about personal lives”.
Just a quick scroll back through his tweets and it shows a lot of ‘bantz’ with fans where he turns it personal. See when he took the piss out of innocent Darnell Swallow (which is now deleted).

I'm very keen that we keep Norwood as he gives us a goal-threat (although if he is still our only goal-threat next season then we will have failed big-time in the transfer market) and I've quite enjoyed some of his stuff on Twitter, but I wish he would think before writing rubbish like this.
We criticise players for doing their job terribly because they are in the privileged position of being paid handsomely for doing something for supposedly being good at something that they're actually not very good at. And yet when they get binned off for being terrible at their job, they won't have to worry about getting another job in the same privileged profession they somehow inhabit. | |
