"My other half said to me, ‘whatever you do, don't you get rid of that font on that stand. That means something’."

I think I quite fancy his wife.

Thanks. It’s kind of iconic retro, dontcha think?

Something slightly wild west about it, isn't there?

I would also suggest the other fonts may have been a poor attempt to match it. Don't seem to match the Cobbold fonts on the labels shared earlier.

You may well be right, I wondered the same.

Cheers. Was thinking the font might be good in potential contexts given its familiarity and inconic nature. May be possible to use that logo in some context as well. We have played about with the logo before, we became Heat magazine for one issue of the fanzine. Annoyingly I can't find the image. Was a bit of an in-joke at the time as one of my friends was the editor.

This old programme looks like it has the same font

The letters certainly look the same shape?

All you need to do now is find the person who made the programme in 1961 and ask them what it was!

That’s not the same font I’m afraid. The letterforms aren’t the same shape - look particularly at the C and the S, as these are quite distinct.

Dam the memories, used to be a client and the company I worked for designed the label.

Sorry, I intended to send this last week

Think you have nailed it there.

The Volta font was created by two German Graphic Artists in 1955.
Dr. Konrad F. Bauer
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konrad_Friedrich_Bauer
and Walter Baum
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Baum

https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/urw/volta/?refby=freefontscom

There seems to be quite a few varieties of this font and several font foundries have newer designs based on it.

https://www.linotype.com/345681/volta-family.html
https://dasauge.co.uk/resources/fonts/?begriff=volta&hersteller=Elsner%2BFla

The spacing on the letters on the stand seems to be expanded.

They did work for some VERY big foundries over in Germany...

Interesting reading though, thanks... I thought I'd respect the delay in posting by also delaying this reply too.

Yes, the spacing on the letters on the stand is more expanded, but got fairly close to it when I added a space between each letter I think!

I haven't read the links but the posts are enough for me to conclude that you and Eirennach_Gorm are the font of all knowledge...as far as fonts go. But other posters may want a proof of this...

Proof? Reading too much into this, mate. Leading me on to make puns that aren’t my type of pun… that’s textual harrassment.
