Mark Ashton - again 09:14 - Jun 2 with 7971 views | Felix1955 | Your new CEO as you know and we’ve seen what he’s had to say to you guys and we’re all falling about laughing. 😂 He said the same to us when he was appointed at City and over his reign he messed up the appointment of a new manager, recruited below par players and essentially took us backwards. We only just avoided relegation last season - but of course that had nothing to do with him....... He’s also brought Andy Rolls as head of fitness with him along with another cronie Luke Werhun our previous club secretary. Rolls was involved in horrendous injury crisis at Asrsenal a few seasons ago and again last season at City when our injury crises was the worst in living memory. Initially you’re going to impressed with Ashton but it won’t take too long before you all begin to question his validity. As for Rolls - you can almost certainly expect a number of lengthy injuries. Anyway, hopefully you’ll be bounce back into the championship soon but if Ashton gets involved in recruitment don’t hold your breath!

Your going to get your chance to find out if that’s true or not, as someone ex of our parish said “be careful what you wish for”

Genuine question - are there any noises as to what is happening structure wise at Bristol City? Whether you rate them or not, your entire structure off the pitch has been obliterated. Is Pearson basically running the club from top to bottom?

Having spent a lot of time at AG both Pre-Ashton and Post-Ashton, I'll ask you this: Take a look at the players you are in for now, take a look at the training ground, take a look at your corporate facilities, take a look at your non match day revenue and then come back and tell us that Ashton was awful for you. The problem with City fans, since Lansdown is some of you, not all, have developed an expectation that with his money, you should be Premier League by now. The problem is Lansdown is a businessman, and he wants to do things on the cheep. Thats why your flood lights are so spread out along the stand, causing AG to have pockets of light rather than a uniform light spread across the whole pitch, because Lansdown saved money by putting 'just enough' lights in. He saved himself £60k there. But if you want to talk about what happens to clubs when the owner tries to do things on the cheep? You're in the right place. [Post edited 2 Jun 2021 16:34]

Not in the least bit angry. Just amused and just like the vast majority of your fans, to use your words, saying it as I see it. Even more amusing is that in one sentence you tell us on there is no need to tell you what and where you are. In the next sentence, you are saying you’d be in the PL without Ashton and by implication belong there. Really? The reality is you are having one of the best periods in your history. Your club is in a great state and you should enjoy it. You even have a good manager, who I hope we go for if Cook leaves in the autumn. [Post edited 2 Jun 2021 16:53]

Mark Ashton - again on 16:57 - Jun 2 with 925 views | Coastalblue | What you fail to consider in your warning is where we are coming from, we're going from one unqualified bloke running the entire club, or not actually because he had to get a largely absent owner's permission to make any decisions, to an entire team and structure with defined roles and goals. Ashton might not be the greatest, we may have been able to do better, much better even but he's still an absolutely enormous step up on what we have had in place for a number of years. Think about the bloke that runs your local Sunday side, that's kind of what it was like here.

And therein lies your problem. You think your a PL club based on absolutely nothing. You've never been a PL club, you were actually fighting relegation and a yo-yo club prior to Ashtons involvement. Now he's gone, I suspect you'll be instantly promoted.

Interesting as in his interview yesterday he made it clear that recruitment has nothing to do with him in terms of selecting players - that’s down to Cook and the scouts.just surmising at this stage but perhaps Gamechanger are giving him less freedom than Lansdown did?

Mark Ashton - again on 19:02 - Jun 2 with 758 views | BlueandTruesince82 | BC have had plenty of decent players, you also have an owner sanctioning sales for big money. We had similar, take Adam Webster we sold him to you for what 3 mil? Evans was thrilled to have that back on the coffers. How much did you get for him season later? Landsdown sanctioned all those sales for big money and understandably so.... Our ownership has changed though. As for managers were had Keane, Jewell, Hurst and Lambert..... it can't get much lower. You had Cotterill when he was at his best, Johnston and Pearson.... I'd gladly swap you. Holden I'll grant was a mistake. In Ashtons time City have outperformed expectation most years and solidified a position in a division that they were only dreaming about 10 years ago. You are doing what we did for years blame everyone apart from the guy setting the tone. The owner.

Mark Ashton - again on 09:21 - Jun 2 by trncbluearmy | be interesting to compare both clubs in a couple of seasons time |
Or compare know. Refurbished and expanded stadium, new training ground and a general upwards(ish) trend in the league. Versus decay, relegation and our lowest ebb in 60 years or whatever it is. Hmm, tough choice.
