Mark Ashton - again 09:14 - Jun 2 with 7972 views | Felix1955 | Your new CEO as you know and we’ve seen what he’s had to say to you guys and we’re all falling about laughing. 😂 He said the same to us when he was appointed at City and over his reign he messed up the appointment of a new manager, recruited below par players and essentially took us backwards. We only just avoided relegation last season - but of course that had nothing to do with him....... He’s also brought Andy Rolls as head of fitness with him along with another cronie Luke Werhun our previous club secretary. Rolls was involved in horrendous injury crisis at Asrsenal a few seasons ago and again last season at City when our injury crises was the worst in living memory. Initially you’re going to impressed with Ashton but it won’t take too long before you all begin to question his validity. As for Rolls - you can almost certainly expect a number of lengthy injuries. Anyway, hopefully you’ll be bounce back into the championship soon but if Ashton gets involved in recruitment don’t hold your breath!

Mark Ashton - again on 11:20 - Jun 2 with 1666 views | ArnieM | Felix....I get it , you’re hurting, a lot. It’s not great is it when a a club in a lower division practically nicks ALL your back room staff. Good luck for the season, and we’ll see you next season in the Championship. 👠

Mark Ashton - again on 11:46 - Jun 2 with 1622 views | pointofblue | We’ll have to see what happens. Ashton is under a different manager and different owners working to different parameters. It could be they utilise everything he does in a positive manner and negate the bad because, perhaps, he was acting on what was requested of him rather than off his own bat. And as said in the first reply, considering what we had in place before ANYONE would be an improvement.

Mark Ashton - again on 12:18 - Jun 2 with 1559 views | IpswichKnight | I’m sure we can arrange for Ian Milne to job share 3 1/2 days a week with another corporate lawyer who supports Chelsea then you will have something to complain about especially as then all decisions would be made by the owner who was only working a couple a days a month as CEO of the club.

Mark Ashton - again on 10:14 - Jun 2 by pennblue | I hear what you are saying, but if there were mistakes made at City, then you would like to think they have learned from them. Last season was an exceptional season with the Pandemic, and maybe Roll's fitness strategy may have increased your injury toll, or maybe you were unlucky, who knows. Either way, what we have seen so far, looks far more comprehensive that what we had before. We now have 6 or 7 professional, experienced people, in positions that were previously unfilled. |
Fans support different football clubs but the similarities between us all is that we’re all fans of the beautiful game and some, like me enjoy chatting with other fans. I did not come on here to wind you up or slag off your club but some of you seem it necessary to ridicule my football club - why? Cole Skuse signed for you from us and was a reasonable success and has now moved along the road to Colchester - he’s a player that still decides opinion on his contribution to the team back in Bristol. As I stated in my OP you guys are in for a few surprises with Ashton and his cronies in charge and I’m just giving you a heads up as a gesture of goodwill amongst football fans. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I don't think anyone wants to ridicule your football club. We all like Bristol City, nice club, no problem there at all. I just don't think you realise how low we have sunk, and therefore, to have anyone 'in charge' is better than having no-one in charge!

Wouldn't really class this as trying to have a friendly chat with other fans lol Mark Ashton - new CEO by Felix1955 13 Apr 2021 19:04Joining you guys having been at AG five seasons.....
The guy is a smooth operator, full of false charm and utterly ruthless. He talks in a very corporate manner and ignored us fans, hardly communicates anything and is despited by us City fans.
We are absolutely delighted to see the back of him.
You guys are welcome to him!

Mark Ashton - again on 13:45 - Jun 2 with 1320 views | IpswichKnight | In the 35 minutes he spoke to Radio and written press he had more ideas of what was wrong and what needed fixing than any of the chocolate fireguard CEO’s we had in last 13 years! Even if he only does half of what he said it will be a 100% increase on what anyone has done recently. Example if we wanted to get the windows cleaned, request to CEO would wait until he was in office then would have to be sent to the owner and would have to wait until he was in the office and even then it would probably be declined as not an immediate need could take over a month just to get a no to clean the clubs windows.

No, you are not giving us a ‘heads up’ or a gesture of goodwill. You are here to throw stones because you are feeling a bit puzzled that your club’s high level management has upped sticks and left, taking the Boardroom rug, training cones and tea lady with them. You lot are good at throwing stones - I watched your supporters hurling them at the Boardroom windows after the 3-0 defeat in 1980. Yes, they have come here for better money. They have also come here because there is scope to do something. At Bristol, you have reached your peak. ITFC until the past few weeks has had no structure whatsoever, no investment, no anything for decades. Plenty of injuries though and that’s amongst an overblown useless squad that cannot manage 45 mins on a football field without an oxygen cylinder - not that we have one. Our medical facilities is a WW2 air raid bucket and old sponge (magic). You are now an established Championship club for the first time in your history. Really you are League 1/Championship fodder with the odd season of better in your history. But you have a new ground, corporate facilities, new training ground, turnover up etc etc and have done well in transfers. In the same 6 years, we’ve shrunk year on year in every way. All that’s grown here is mould. The new CEO and staff will succeed here or will be out. It’s how Americans work. They actually don’t have to do an awful lot to be better than the life sucking waste of space that ran the club till April. Unlike the supporters, Bristol local media are divided on Ashton. We will see.

Wow! A very angry post. No need to tell us what and where we are - we already know that. That vast majority of our fans feel that without Ashtons input into recruitment of players and managers we’d have reached the PL by now.
