F**k me, once we get rid of one idiot, another one crawls out of the fetid swamp.

I lived in blissful ignorance from the 70’s up until a few years ago, proudly believing that fellow Ipswich fans were a bloody decent bunch.

Utterly depressing that the likes of you, that nazemariner tool, lowhouse, the redacted clown & a rancid host of other wretched weapons that have washed up recently, actually share something in common with me.

Well, being fair, you can if you're a certain race and give no fooks about anyone else.

"American Football quarterback Colin Kaepernick sat on the bench during the US national anthem to protest against police brutality and racism in a pre-season game on 26 August 2016.

Kaepernick said at the time: "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of colour."

He discussed his motivations with Nate Boyer, a military veteran and former National Football League (NFL) player, who advised him to kneel because he thought it was more "respectful"."

Spruce has made a post on the Gareth Southgate thread if you care.

Then, if you care some more, do a little reading. If you really don't understand then put yourself out there and do something about that.

Maybe start with the odd classic, Uncle Tom's Cabin, To Kill A Mockingbird.

Watch '12 Years' if you want something made more recently for the screen...

Learn about the Slave Trade and how human beings were treated as property by rich white folk, how their lives were meaningless to their 'owners', how girls and women were systematically raped, how men, women and children were tortured and beaten.

But those are the obvious examples, there is so much material available and there is no excuse.

Read some Benjamin Zephaniah for a taste of what is was like for black people here in the UK in the 50s, 60s, 70s.

The social issues throughout the 80s, 90s and to this day all stem from that.

Make an effort before making stupid comments trying to defend some racist knobs booing anti-racism at football matches and belittling the murder of a black man at the hands of the authorities who are employed and paid to protect all citizens.

George Floyd's demise isn't what started this or any movement. It's an extension of a protest that began in the 1800s and became stronger throughout the 1900s.

Have you never heard of Martin Luther King? Rosa Parks? *

Don't tell people to 'chill' whilst making offensive comments which you clearly have no appreciation of.

It’s just so exhausting reading and listening to all the apologists and peddlers of hatred. They just don’t care unless it directly bothers them or their popularity. What’s the point. Bye.

Kaepernick has extreme views, he wants to abolish Police and Prisons for example. Read up too much on him isn't a good idea as it will only reinforce , in too many, the belief that it is all political.

It is time for the football authorities, and clubs, to take the lead and drive the message home.

I didn't suggest anyone read up on Kaepernick.

You haven't acknowledged any of those I did suggest though, all of which I think are decent places to look.

The poster I was replying to said a couple of posts back that 'this' [kneeling] started over GF. It didn't and I was showing him the example in the BBC article.

Again, the attempt is to shift focus away from the point. Can you not do that please?

Maybe you don't understand what the reality is here in the US, but he's not quoted as saying anything in that article that's not true, or not desperately needed.

Either way, I'll post the link to his actual full article on order to at least show him that respect, and so that people can judge him by his actual words and ideas rather than those of one of the NFL's major partners.

Even if you don't agree with him, are his ideas honestly any more extreme than a system that consistently murders young black men and never faces any consequence?

have you actually read the article? - it is as mad as a box of frogs.

"The central intent of policing is to surveil, terrorize, capture, and kill marginalized populations, specifically Black folks."

yeah right. yes his ideas are very extreme and it is worrying that you choose not to see that in order to win the internet.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

it's illegal and likely to amount to actual bodily harm with a sentence of up to five years. claiming that the other person said something nasty, even if it amounted to an incitement to racial hatred, won't get you off. hope that helps.
