1973... last minute decision to go with a mate who drove from ipswich. Bought the tickets outside from the touts and as we're just about to reach our gate two older Scottish guys were offering their seat tickets for ones behind the goal, which was where ours were so we swopped! Thank the lord we did as that end was nearly all Scottish fans.. well, so was the other end! 1-0 England and can still vividly recall Shiltons famous save and the Alan Ball free kick for Martin Peters headed goal. Yep, ‘fraid so. There were supposed to be no scouts in the ground, but hey almost outnumbers us lot. The area behind the goal Robertson scored the pen (where I was standing) was almost all scots! | |

Wembley play-off 1999. Mate worked for Axa and somehow won some tickets in an internal raffle and he kindly took me along. We were sat one seat in front of Helen Chamberlain from Soccer AM.
Edit; Bro-in-law went last night…. He knows Tyrone Mings well and got a ticket through him. He tried to get one for his Dad (my father-in-law) too, but players were limited to 5 tickets instead of the usual 30. [Post edited 19 Jun 2021 10:54]

I always remember the Scottish player who got fouled celebrating winning the pen while on the ground. Clemence in goal I think. I was very young but that game stuck in my mind.
Both sides packed with fine players, superior to what was on offer last night. However McTominay is a fine player, one of the best operators in the Premier League today. | |

Last night’s occasion deserved 90,000 in the ground - that would have been superb.
