MOTD etc wouldn’t be the same without Lineker and he is good at it.

I listen to Radio 2 and like all of the ‘DJs’ on there.

But for what Zoe Ball and Gary Lineker (especially Gary) do they don’t half get paid a handsome sum! Zoe Ball gets more annual leave than any ‘normal person’ I think

Yep, basically the same as it was then, even down to the tunes he plays.....you could probably play an archive show from the 80s and no-one would notice the difference..

I think Shearer and Lineker are there all day/evening as well tbf, Saturday show does all the Saturday games (and some Fridays when there’s on) Also obviously presents the live shows when games are on, FA Cup etc so a bit of travelling but I bet he doesn’t pay for his own train/car/hotel etc Not a bad gig.

Hes also on BT Sport and is paid even more by them. I do not understand how Shearer gets paid that amount. Who suggested that pay? Why not offer him £50k?

Why not pay Linekar £100k? It's ridiculous for what they do.

I just can’t deal with Lineker’s smugness. Seems to be his own biggest fan.

Shearer seems a nice guy, but utterly dull. I have enjoyed Rio Ferdinand and his passion though!

They are not actually salaried employees though are they? I thought they were contractors this selling their services to the highest bidder, Lineker also works on BT Sport doesn't he? The BBC shouldn't really compete with Sky, ITV, Etc for these people, they should be discovering new talent then hopefully the scummer would find himself out of work.

ah yeah, that's what the tax wrangling was all about with Lineker - whether he should in fact be classed as PAYE or can genuinely pay the lower business rates. Something about disguised employee.

Graham Norton deserves to be much higher up the list too!

Graham Norton will get paid a lot more than his declared salary, trust me. That article only lists the top earners solely from the licence fee. Most of the BBC's top stars also get paid through BBC Studios.

spokesperson for the BBC said: “The BBC’s Charter requires us to set out the names of individuals paid more than £150k from the licence fee and that’s exactly what we do. Independent production companies and BBC Studios are commercially run and not funded by the licence fee, so are not required by the Government to disclose salaries.”
