Hessett is less than ten miles from Bury St Edmunds.

Rampant alcoholism, drug-taking and tattoo parlours represent the cream of Lowestoft's offering.
Hey, if you're of pensionable age there are probably worse things than developing a mild heroin habit. Didn't do the Victorians any harm.
Didn't do anybody any real harm until the drug was criminalised just over half a century ago. That gave the supply to the black market, and produce massively impure drugs.
