You are right that there is a lot to look at. People trying to get in by fighting stewards and police. Racist comments. Booing of national anthems. But none of this is new. You can’t simply blame the current government. It is a small percentage of England fans who are bringing the whole country into disrepute. They should be tracked down and punished.

No, you can’t single out the government for blame. But the political and media establishment in this country are complicit in a lowering of public standards and an increase in the politics of division.
Decent Britons who are in the overwhelming majority are caught in the middle.

we were stood next to some coppers on WW, and said how the hell are you suppose to deal with this, they said they'd specifically requested only cans were to be sold around the ground (off licences etc) and anyone with bottle have them taken off them.... this didn't happen.
I was watching bottles fly through the air and land in the crowd of 150/200k down WW, the damage that could cause isn't worth thinking about.
majority of people were walking away from the stadium towards the tube so were only there for the atmosphere.
we got to the bottom of the steps and no covid check.... got the next bloke to activate ticket and a senior steward pulled his team, I heard him say "we cant handle this".... at that point people with tickets ran up steps to get to turnstiles before those running up there without tickets!! utter madness, 4 turnstiles at entrance A for 1000/1200 people, no queue, just masses. as we got near the front the pressure from behind got bad, kids getting lifted up, arms coming out to get a bit more room to breathe properly.
London was a fcking cesspit of this countries cnts yesterday, pieces of sht, shirtless smashing bottles singing about Scotland getting battered everywhere they go - ironically they didn't get batter here....
of the 3 games I done, germany/Denmark/Italy, the final rates a 2/10 for me. horrible experience.
Avoided WW like the plague. Had a drink in a pub up the road - surprisingly easy to just walk in around 4pm.
But when we got to the ground about 645 a very different story. I just don’t get it - I said before the semi final that we’d see hundreds of people trying to force their way in (lots did for that via a dodgy app for the semi). It was so obviously. I think the difference yesterday was the type of people doing it - it wasn’t just local kids but also savvy football lads from around the country doubling up at the turnstile and then bullying once in the ground. Whilst the individuals have to take responsibility (obviously), ultimately everybody else has the right to expect to feel safe - I saw so many people terrified and instantly regretting bringing children, wives, girlfriends, older parents etc.
Kick off should also be much earlier for a game like that.

Just another note to add, on the radio this morning they said there were 300 met police officers on duty at Wembley, this increased to 450 by the end of the game. This was for a ticket crowd of 60,000 and goodness knows how many further. A lot of those will have been very drunk etc.
I compared this to a Ipswich Norwich game, and the news report I read said they have 250 on duty, for a crowd of 27,000 at noon, without all the hangers on.
Exactly - an absolute joke if that’s the case. Almost as if they wanted it to happen…

so many of the northern club fans celebrating the fact fans got in for free, claiming a result against UEFA, but casually forgetting all those you mention.
bloke was shiuting to get back as his missus was pregnant and to get back, 2 replies "why bring her then" - like pregnant England fans shouldn't be allowed to attend because others are utter cnts.
we don't deserve a WC here, much better, more fun, watching the European police batter these pr1cks

That ring of covid and ticket checks around the stadium should be impregnable.
London was full of absolute pricks, at first I joked it was like a giant stag do. But quickly realised every city, town and village in England had shipped its idiots out for the day.

And how do we justify the scenes in Leicester Square? on 16:01 - Jul 12 with 1689 views

Appreciate much of your comments/posts Texters on yesterday. Sounds pretty appaulling tbh. I'd just counter that the European plod tend not to discriminate when they wade in and so many innocents get caught up when the batons fly and the tear gas is fired.
What strikes me about yesterday is how the authorities failed to create a sterile zone around the stadium that was effectively a barrier to those wanting in. Anyone who has followed England overseas is well used to multiple ticket checks and high levels of security. Am sure the odd fan bunks in but what we saw yesterday simply wouldn't have been possible at many stadiums I've visited.

The minute they allowed thousands to drink on Wembley way it was game over.
Wembley isn’t fit for purpose as currently setup - very difficult to form the barriers we’ve all seen elsewhere.

I went to a game in Portugal for euro2004, there were 3 check points for tickets.
WW is just a cattle herding exercise, thousands filtered in and out. they couldn't set anything up like that.… they possibly could have, half way down have some proper solid fencing in place, then once inside that zone put some outside bars in place, small fan zone. drink there instead of walking down with 24 bottles of stella

"You can’t simply blame the current government."
yes, that has been the one noticable act of success governments - referring to black people as piccaninnies, fostering a culture of xenophobia and bigotry
or in the real world, that behaviour lies solely with Johnsons government.
One of the striking things witnessed yesterday was the lack of non white 'fans', inside and outside Wembley and elsewhere. This had been hyped up as a vindication of Brexit, white supremacy and every other bigoted thought that could be linked.
Selling alcohol to a bunch of kids 8 plus hours before the game was always going to lead to trouble. The brain dead causing the problems had no interest in watch football - otherwise they would have ensured they either had a ticket or were gong to be watching it on a screen, home pub etc.
Of cause it is not the governments fault, they only govern 9the clue is in the name. They take full responsibility for what was a massive balls up. 2030 World Cup anyone ?
Had the bloated buffoon a clue beyond leering at the camera with two thumbs raised, like the village idiot on a day at the seaside, he might have been aware what would happen. Might have seen the shots from Leicester Square in the afternoon, to recognise that preventive action was needed to be put in place. Look at the chaos that followed in Trafalgar Square.
As far as most were concerned the result was a mere formaility, and so the 'experience' of celebrating the win was was what it was all about. And being England that 'experience' always involves getting totally pssed, with all the consequences that entails.
I can therefore only imagine that much of Europe watching the carnage must think "thank fck, they are gone"
And come the new season I very much any of these kids will be at games - much as the celebs and the millions of hangers on. The public execution they fired themselves up for, failed spectacularly..... the rope snapped.
Perhaps some of us can now have our game back.

absolute rubbish i'm afraid, the one thing I have noticed in the 3 games I've done is how well represented we have been by the Indian, Asia and black community.... big numbers.
and outside the ground there were thousands of groups of locals youngsters of all colours

and there certainly doesn't look like 'thousands' in the ground either
so I would suggest you are just making up stuff (lying) for some reason

….
So perhaps this does have something to do with government actions
