Bit of a bummer. I'm double jabbed and in my 20s so came as a surprise. It came through today at work - I'm a support worker for Mencap.
I had a nice week lined up as well, I was meant to be travelling back up to Wales to visit my girlfriend, who I haven't seen for 6 weeks. I'm more gutted about the knock on effects at work - one of the residents we look after was all set to go on a trip to the West End in London but that's not happening now as they can't get PCRs in time. Also a bit worried I could have passed it on to people in the vulnerable category - I know it's not my fault but still a concern of course.
Does anyone have any podcast or documentary recommendations? Preferably in the football, politics or true crime genres.
There's also a podcast on Spotify called Last Podcast on the Left which is three guys chatting about historical events. It's not my favourite, but it has it's moments - I quite enjoyed the episodes on the black death. The main host does a music podcast called No Dogs in Space which I much prefer but they have had a break recently so thought I'd give this one a listen.
Some of the content I've mentioned above does flirt with conspiracy theories, although they definitely make an effort not to give them any credence, and just discuss them as part of the general circumstances around the topic at hand.
Hope this helps see you through, but look forward to seeing other people's suggestions too!
"Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

Just started on Revisionist History with Malcolm Gladwell, really good podcast.
If you/anyone else likes Gladwell then he owns Pushkin Industries and they have some excellent choices of podcast. I just went through the Last Archive which was good and a nice break as I'm reading one of his books at the minute and feel like I can't escape his voice some days!
RadioLab is another American PBS show which has done some absolutely superb stuff in a similar vein and has a spinoff More Perfect all about the US justice system.
Look on the bright side, you now have the time to go through all of those covid denial, anti masking and anti lockdown threads and videos on your FB, Whatsapp, Twitter etc (Katie Hopkins recommended as a lite on facts, heavy on ignorance intro) and be happy that somebody like that was probably responsible for your situation.

Great shout on Pushkin, Cautionary Tales is also very good.
I find the High Performance podcasts on Youtube interesting listening. Gives you a better insight into the psychological aspects of how sportsmen go about their business.
They've also interviewed a few musicians here and there also. Here is a part of the Steven Gerrard one but there's lots on there.
