In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

And the scientific (or at least more rigorous) surveys show pretty much the same thing - that cyclists are the least of our worries on the road. They're not as big red light jumpers as cars, the consequences of code braking are normally less (horrible case here though, and I'm certainly not condoning what the cyclist did) and then for cyclists, red light jumping is as bad as it gets, whereas you get speeding, driving on the phone, driving watching videos, driving typing texts, etc., etc.

Ridiculous that we've got a thread this long, unless chico's just fishing for bites. All this sort of talk does is fuel a them v us mentality and then before you know it you've got cyclists being deliberately targeted.

Even better than that. Hopefully all people using the road will read up, be aware and follow the new Highway Code when published, or read up on the new things that are comming up and start following it straight away.

Read that story this morning, and makes perfect sense; what I would say though from the point of view of someone that cycles through London every day, is that a large number of pedestrians here don't do themselves (and therefore cyclists or motorists) any favours.

As I covered in my earlier post, 43 pedestrians ignoring red men at pedestrian crossings during a 2 hour journey through central London (not quiet side streets...seriously busy places e.g. Euston Road / Ken High Street). There are some cities in Europe that spot fine pedestrians for doing this, and I don't think we can be too far off having to introduce something similar.

Poll: My morning poo-poo took 3 flushes to clear. Who do I call?

Exactly, well said. One would hope Chico's not just fishing for bites on the back of someone's death, but who knows. At best he's been dragged into targeting cyclists because of the aforementioned them v us mentality, through ignorance. At worst he's doing it deliberately.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.
